NOW YOU KNOW

The Sound Lab is an extension to NWCA's "Music in the Park". Building on the success of outdoor live music, the NWCA is happy to extend social connections through the power of music with our indoor version "The Sound Lab at Killiney Beach". The Lab is a reference that we will be trying a wide variety of genres and vibes to try to create a setting for everyone to enjoy.

COMMUNITY MEMBER SPOTLIGHT

Photo and Post shared by

NWCA Parks Director

A big NWCA THANK YOU goes out to Candice White for purchasing a new metal net for the park. Candice noted that this is about the 5th net they have purchased as all previous nets got ripped or torn down quickly. Which means when your ball goes through it bounces all over the place instead of staying on the court. She is hoping, like many others, this one lasts longer. We agree and would like to help.

If there are any equipment requests or needs to the children's playground equipment at the Westshore Estates Community Park please contact your NWCA Parks Director here as she is working in collaboration with our NWCA Sports Director on improvements to the shed and contents.

To all the community members who have kept the equipment intact and the park clean you are greatly appreciated!

JULY EVENT RECAP

Thank you to all who came out and enjoyed the free NWCA Canada Day bbq, held at Westshore Estates Community Park, on Saturday, July 1st between 12 and 3 pm with the NWCA community. We appreciated all the support, sponsors, and diversity that make this all happen and we look forward to seeing you next year, July 1st, 2024.

We sincerely apologize to all for what unexpectedly occurred at this years celebration and promise to ensure there will be no political speeches next year.

Congratulations to our 50/50 winner Sashah Harrison (pictured below with her family) who won $367 with Ticket #2177324. NWCA BCLC License # 140476!

SUMMERTIME BLUES

has come and gone....and everyone left with a smile.

Thank you to the many neighbours and friends that attended NWCA's Music in the Park on July 22nd at Westshore Estates Community Park with the musical group So_Co Blues Band.

Thank you so very much to our sponsors, Morgan's Mountain Industries LTD, N.W.S. Landscaping and Beyond, and EXP Realty/Steele Group for their generous contribution to keep live music healthy and a part of our North Westside cultural experience.

Thank you to all the NWCA Hippie Market vendors that set up and endured the heat and the wind...hope that you enjoyed the music and the evening as well. You all make the event that much more special with your festive contributions. Thank you to Gary Sumner of Outdoor Star Cinema for some beautiful pictures to help capture the day.

Special thank you to Scott Graham, Andrew Coulter, Greg MacKeen and Christina Seitz for volunteering to make the event happen. It takes a small village to pull off an outdoor event. A big thank you to Jaimie Dewar , our own very talented NWCA Communications Director for all the beautiful graphics for the poster, menus etc. to showcase our events.

Thank you to the special group of ladies that demonstrated the very best of enjoying a Saturday evening with Blues music as they sat in the grass in their pretty dresses and hats and enjoyed some of Sheila's Toukylou Ice Cream treats...you ladies really know how to live and thrive...you put a big smile on my face and a few others.

Next Music in the Park is Sat. Aug. 26th 2-5PM as we come together once again to celebrate PEACE< LOVE and ART with musical guests Justin Rindal and Steve Hansen. See you at the Park.

We had a packed hall for this week’s training on WSPP-WFF. Lt. Zimmer led members through theory on Triage and Safe zones (TRA), Firefighters then went out into the community triaging homes and identifying safe zones in real life scenarios. This training provides members with BC Wildfire Certification.

Big NWFR thank you to the

Ewings Landing homeowners for supporting our training program.

NWFR members were out in the community yesterday (July 7, 2023) handing out candy, letting kids spray water while checking out the fire trucks. It was great to meet everyone and see all the smiling faces as we rolled through Fintry Provincial Campground.

More photos from Fintry Campground where our friendly firefighters drove down to hand out candy, let kids spray water and check out the trucks. What a great night!
