GGUSD Students Get Hands-On with Biotechnology

GGUSD has 15 Career Pathways within our Career and Technical Education (CTE) program that equip students with real-world skills and prepare them for success in their college and career goals (Goal 3). This week, students in the Biotechnology Pathway at La Quinta High School enjoyed engaging in hands-on learning, which is a major benefit of the CTE courses! Students used modern-day technology to learn about muscle strength and examine the data in various scenarios. #GGUSDPride #GGUSDGoalGetters

GGUSD Engages Families through Parent Leadership Academy

PARENTS AS PARTNERS: Yesterday we had a full house for our Parent Leadership Academy which brings parent leaders together from all campuses to collaborate and learn with district and school administrators. Superintendent Gabriela Mafi highlighted the importance of the district goals (Academic Skills + Personal Skills = Lifelong Success) and PTA Council leaders delivered a presentation on the role the PTA can play in a school community. We love working alongside our parent leaders for the continual improvement of our schools! Thank you to Dr. Mafi for serving lunch as she does each year since the launch of the Parent Leadership Academy in 2017-18. #GGUSDPride #GGUSDGoalGetters

Irvine Intermediate Students Sharpen Photography Skills

SAY CHEESE: Students in Irvine Intermediate School's after-school Photography Club were practicing depth of field with their cameras this week and received some hands-on pointers and strategies from David Mora, GGUSD's Supervisor of Multimedia Communications. This Club teaches real-world photography skills (Goal 1) and supports student well-being (Goal 2). #GGUSDPride #GGUSDGoalGetters

GGUSD Schools Celebrate Halloween

Staff and students alike at Heritage Computer Science Academy showed off awesome costumes and took part in the Halloween festivities at Heritage this week! We love seeing our school communities hold events aligned to Goal 2 that support student well-being and provide them with a fantastic climate and culture at school!

Parkview Elementary School's winning costume was a look-alike to Principal Ryan Baker. Imitation is the highest form of flattery.

Wakeham Elementary School hosted a popular Costume Parade and students of all ages were happy to participate and show off their awesome costumes.

Santiago High School administrators dress up as the district's three goals - Academic Skills + Personal Skills = Lifelong Success.

Many GGUSD schools held Trunk or Treat events with families coming out to join in the Halloween fun. We love engaging our school communities in fun family events.

Mark Twain Special Education Center hosted an awesome Halloween celebration with a Costume Parade, photo stations, treats, and dancing.
