Our next gathering will be Thursday, January 18, 2024, in the Fellowship Hall at 11:30 am. In addition to a lunch of homemade soups , cornbread, and desserts, we will have a brief program, led by Ben Griffith. Be sure to sign up by stopping by/calling the church office (662.234.1757). You may also email Kate Hill ([email protected]) to sign up.

Ben Griffith will lead us in an informative discussion of issues most of us face as we and our loved ones approach the end of life. He plans to include the basics of a last will and testament, some of the myths we need to debunk about estate planning, and why all of us need to consider a living will (an advanced directive), a durable power of attorney, and a living trust. He will also discuss key concerns about such things as life insurance, joint/survivorship accounts, planning for funeral expenses, and some of the end-of-Life Issues that can present complex moral, ethical and legal dilemmas. These are issues that relate to quality of life and involve personal values and beliefs that are often faced by patients, family members and caregivers.
