A Wish for Peace and Harmony

May the voices of peace and compassion rise above those of conflict, and the pursuit of harmony transcend the boundaries that divide. We stand against terrorism and pray for the lives of innocent civilians.

JFS Honors Our Dedicated Volunteers

This year's Volunteer Appreciation & Annual Meeting held on October 26th celebrated the collective impact of our volunteers as well as JFS’ achievements in serving our community. The event highlighted our work together providing vital support to individuals and families in Middlesex County and beyond. We thank all who attended: JFS volunteers, staff, board members, community partners like the Jewish Federation in the Heart of NJ, and elected officials including Mayor Owen Henry of Old Bridge.

Our volunteers play a crucial role in our community service. As Bill Stover, JFS' Associate Executive Director and Clinical Director noted, "We have a great agency because of our Volunteers." JFS' impact and success are due to the unwavering dedication of our volunteers, staff, and supporters. With heartfelt gratitude, we extend our deepest thanks to each volunteer for choosing JFS as their avenue for giving back. If you are interested in volunteer opportunities at JFS, call 732-777-1940 or email office@jfsmiddlesex.org. Special thanks to Crabiel Funeral Directors of New Brunswick & Milltown for sponsoring the luncheon.

Awards Given to Two Dedicated Volunteers

JFS was thrilled to give the Volunteer of the Year Award to Evonne G. (left) for her years dedicated to helping our community. New Volunteer of the Year Award was given to Shelly T. (center), who has brought energy and passion to JFS in her first year with us. Contributing to the North Brunswick office, both Shelly and Evonne actively assist with the Women’s and Career Centers as well as various community projects. Evonne and Shelly embody the spirit of volunteerism, contributing time and talents to advance JFS' mission to help improve the lives of our community members. We express our deepest gratitude to these amazing ladies for their outstanding contributions, making a lasting difference in our community.

Sharing the Stories That Shape Our Work

The 22nd Annual Women's Leadership Summit, organized by the Women in Business Committee of the Middlesex County Regional Chamber of Commerce, aimed to empower attendees in discovering their inner leader. Roni Salkin, JFS' Executive Director, was among the inspirational women leaders who shared insights and stories at the event. Roni highlighted individual stories of care that shape our work, emphasizing the diverse needs of the families served and the importance of community champions in navigating local resources.

The message to today's emerging and established leaders is clear: for a community to thrive everyone must be involved and included. The event not only encouraged leaders to expand their networks but also underscored the significance of staying attuned to the needs within our community. We are grateful for the opportunity to showcase our work and to be part of a group of inspiring contributors.
