Get Connected in Maryland

Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP)

The Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) is a FCC program that helps connect families and households struggling to afford internet service. It provides eligible households with:

  • Up to a $30/month discount on internet service.
  • The state of Maryland gives an additional $15 for a total benefit of $45.
  • Up to a $75/month discount for homes on qualifying Tribal lands
  • Up to a $100 discount for a laptop, tablet, or desktop computer (with a co-payment of more than $10 but less than $50.)

Your household can qualify for the ACP:

  • If your income is 200% or less than the Federal Poverty Guidelines.
  • If you or your child or dependent participate in certain government assistance programs such as SNAP, Medicaid, WIC, or other programs
  • If you or anyone in your household already receives a Lifeline benefit.

Note: You may qualify for the ACP through a participating provider’s existing low-income program.

Visit the official ACP website at https://getinternet.gov/apply for more information and application.

Connected Devices (Chromebook) Program

The Connected Devices (MD-CDP) grant program is designed to assist in digital equity and inclusion efforts in Maryland. MD-CDP is intended to provide new, internet-enabled devices to families who are most in need.

Qualifying households have an opportunity to receive one free Chromebook computer per address. Each address, beneficiary name, device identification, and other necessary data for device distribution and program reporting purposes will be received at the time of eligibility determination and prior to the distribution of the device.

For more information on the program, qualification requirements and registration process, please visit the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development's website or contact your County Government.

Marylanders Online is Here to Help

Since launching in February 2023, Marylanders Online Call Center has been providing assistance to community members in ACP awareness, finding internet service providers who offer ACP benefits, and ACP application process via phone and email. Partnering with organizations in Baltimore County, Charles County, St. Mary's County, Prince George's County, Calvert County, Montgomery County, Garrett County, and more, our team engages in community events, ACP info sessions and sign-up events to provide in-person support to over 1,600 households. As organizations are in the process of distributing Chromebooks from the Connected Devices Program, we are excited to assist even more community members setting up their new devices and improving their digital skills.
