JDA Turntable Revolving Loan Fund for Small Business Growth

The Joint Development Authority of the Unified Government of Athens-Clarke County and the City of Winterville is pleased to invite you to apply for its JDA Turntable Revolving Loan for Small Business Growth program. This program is designed to provide low-interest (2%) 30-month loans ranging from $3,001 to $25,000 to small business in Athens-Clarke County and the City of Winterville to help them grow their business, create new, better, and sustainable job opportunities for the people who live in our area, and make the Athens / Winterville area a place people want to live and work.

 

The program is targeted to for-profit businesses that meet the strategic priorities for this fund. Businesses that are physically located in Athens-Clarke County or the City of Winterville and that are current on their ACC or City of Winterville occupational tax and have paid it for at least the past 3 years are eligible. For more information or inquiries contact myung.cogan@accgov.com.

The ATHENA Leadership Award is presented to an individual who demonstrates the qualities embodied in the ATHENA Leadership Model and who:


· Achieve the highest level of professional excellence;


· Contribute time and energy to improve the quality of life for others in the community; and


· Actively assist others, particularly women, in realizing their full leadership potential.


Nominations are currently being accepted for the 2025 ATHENA Leadership Award. Please submit nominations no later than September 17, 2024.

The Athenaeum presents a newly commissioned exhibition by New York-based artist, Rose Salane

The Athenaeum is pleased to present a newly commissioned exhibition by New York-based artist, Rose Salane. The exhibition will be on display at the gallery from September 12th to November 23rd. The artist will give a lecture on September 11th at the Lamar Dodd School of Art at 5:30 pm in Auditorium S151. An exhibition opening will be held the following evening at the Athenaeum, September 12th from 6pm to 8pm.

Board of Regents Considering Creative Solutions for Historic President's House 

The President's House Foundation, a non-profit organization founded to promote the preservation of the UGA President's House for the benefit of the community, is pleased to announce that the Board of Regents and University of Georgia administration have been presented with innovative solutions to preserve the historic President's House. This significant effort follows a series of discussions that took place in January, where representatives from the Foundation met with key university officials, including Board of Regents Chairman Harold Reynolds and UGA President Jere Morehead, to discuss the future of this iconic property.
