Hello Friends!
The ground is beginning to freeze and snow is here. Grab your skis and lube your chain, the trails are OPEN with early season conditions! Throughout the network you will find variable terrain from thin coverage in the woods to areas with 4+ inches of snow in open fields, and the occasional wet spot. It may not be much, but we'll take it!
During the winter season, we are happy to offer the Darling Ridge and White School sections of our network for snowshoeing and groomed trails for skate and classic Nordic skiing, as well as Fatbiking.
With the change of seasons often come changes to the trail network. This winter due to landowner permissions, the area on Darling Ridge that is closed to KT trail users in the summer is now also closed to winter access. This will impact our winter offerings by dividing our Nordic trails on the North and South ends of Darling Ridge into two separate groomed areas. However, we are incredibly grateful to the Inn at Mtn View Farm, the Burklyn Mansion, the Wildflower Inn, and other neighboring private landowners for offering additional access on their properties so that we may expand in areas to continue grooming 11 KM for Nordic skiing, 31 miles for fatbiking trails, and 33 miles for snowshoeing.
Please be aware that the forecast is calling for warm temperatures for this weekend and winter trail use is discouraged when temperatures are above freezing as this can cause damage to the trail surface. As always, if you're planning to hit the trails, visit the trail conditions page on our website. And remember that if you purchased your Annual Membership this last summer, it is still valid until April 1, 2024, so get on out there!
