Vote For People's Choice Lemon Street Outdoor Sculptures
The 23rd Florida Outdoor Sculpture Competition is on display on the Lemon Street Promenade and Lakeland Public Library now through the end of 2023. The community is encouraged to vote for their favorite sculpture by visiting the People’s Choice web page.
Public Meetings Moved to Lakeland Electric Building
Due to a renovation project taking place in the City Commission Chambers, all live meetings that require broadcast and audience participation will be moved to the Lakeland Electric Building 1 A/B starting Friday, May 5 – Thursday, June 1.

The City Commission Chambers will be undergoing a major audio/visual renovation project. Most of the audio/visual equipment currently used to broadcast live meetings is over 20-years old. Newer technology will be installed that will enhance the broadcast and streaming services provided by the City of Lakeland. 

Peterson Park Boardwalk And Fishing Pier Closed

The boardwalk and small fishing pier at Peterson Park are currently closed until further notice. The structures have deteriorated over time and City staff has deemed the structures unsafe. 

Griffin Road Impacted for
Sewer Repair

Lakeland Water Utilities has recently learned that a 600 ft. long section of 24” gravity sewer main that runs parallel to Griffin Road needs emergency repairs. The repairs will primarily take place in the right of way adjacent to the eastbound lane of Griffin Road between Pyramid Parkway and US 98. 

Barnett Family
Park To Close
For Repairs

Barnett Family Park located at 730 East Orange Street will be closing for repairs from April 18th through May 8. The splash pad, playgrounds and picnic area will all be impacted as part of the closure.

Nucycle Energy Partners
with the City of Lakeland
NuCycle Energy announced a new partnership with the City of Lakeland. This partnership will allow commercial customers in the Lakeland service area to avoid the landfill and help replace fossil fuels. This new sustainability initiative kicked off on Monday, March 27.
