The Middle School Minute

Help your Scholar Enjoy Reading

Placing an emphasis on reading helps develop higher levels of focus and concentration. It also facilitates a reader to sort things out mentally!

To motivate your middle schooler to read:

  1. Lead by example. Your reading habits influence your scholar’s reading habits.
  2. Designate a daily reading time. Make reading time a family event. Just like exercise start with short durations and build up.
  3. Allow your scholar to select non-school books for leisure reading.

Academy Giving

Our academy flourishes because of parent philanthropy. Every gift to Community Investment and each Tax Credit designation supports a tuition-free private school caliber education in a public-school setting. For all donation inquiries, please contact Tina Swartz, our Regional Family Giving Manager Arizona, at tina.swartz@greathearts.org. We are currently taking applications for the role of a Family Giving and Community Engagement Officer. We highly encourage anyone with a desire to make a difference at the school to consider applying for this position.

Academic Calendar magnets to donors have gone home through the youngest scholars. The rest will go out next week, again through every family’s youngest scholar at Trivium. Thank you to Kim Penn Realty (Mr. & Mrs. Ossie Penn) and Benefit Air (Mr. & Mrs. Armando Vargas).

If you are parent who is interested in volunteering to help in this Homecoming Dance project, during the week of October 22-28, then please let us know—we could use some extra hands and eyes! Whether it is only for a couple of hours or whether you are interested in helping out in a more consistent role for future Trivium High School Dances, we would love to have you join the decorations crew during that week! If you are interested or have any questions, please contact James Manion at jmanion@triviumprep.org.

Traffic Flow for Student Drop-off/Pick-up

Please review the Traffic Flow Procedures for Student Drop-off/Pick-up and talk to your students about how pick-up will work for your family before the first day of school. The safety of your children is our top priority and we thank you for partnering with us to make our pick-up safe and support traffic flow.

If you have Archway Trivium students that you are transporting to/from campus along with your Trivium Prep students, please refer to the Archway Traffic Flow/Drop-off & Pick-up procedures for additional information that may apply to your family. Archway students MAY NOT be dropped off or picked up in the Prep traffic flow.

IMPORTANT REMINDERS: When you reach the Prep Drop-off/Pick-up Zone on the south side of campus, please ONLY stop your car for drop-off/pick-up of students in the outer two lanes. ALWAYS leave the center lane clear for cars to exit campus, once they have picked up students.

Latest News image TVP.png

You can find all school-wide communications on our website on the Latest School Updates page.

If you know of parents who are not receiving these communications, please ask them to check their junk/promotions email folders, and then email bmcdonald@triviumprep.org for assistance.

School Messenger Communication

Great Hearts and Trivium Prep continue to utilize the system School Messenger for emails, robo-calls, and text messaging to inform families of campus related academy emergencies and other communications. SchoolMessenger has a new automatic opt-in for text feature. During the registration/re-enrollment process families confirmed their wish to participate in text communications. Great Hearts will now automatically opt in contact information given during the registration/re-enrollment process with the options you selected. You will notice at the beginning of July you will be opted in for text messaging. If you would like to opt out of text messages simply reply STOP to the text from 67585. You can also enter the code 67585 with the message STOP to block any text messaging. Please note, if opting out, you will not receive texts regarding emergencies on campus.
