Let's Talk Small

Show your love for the local & shop small!

The charm of downtown Boulder has always rested in our small businesses - one-of-a-kind shops and restaurants that have drawn locals and visitors to the heart of the city year after year. The faces behind the businesses are community members, neighbors, friends, family and some of the hardest working people you'll ever meet.

According to the U.S. Small Business Administration, there are 33.2 million small businesses across America and nearly half of all U.S. employees are employed by a small business. Here in downtown Boulder, nearly 80% of the 280+ shops and 150+ restaurants are locally owned and operated...80%! Meet the faces behind the places in our Small Business Spotlights. Shop small to make a BIG difference!

Ready? Set? Park!

An easy breezy guide to parking downtown.

winter-v1 image

OK, we know, parking is not exactly a warm and fuzzy topic...BUT, it is one that stirs a lot of emotions and fosters a ton of misconceptions! Here's the 411 to making parking downtown in city parking lots and garages a breeze:

 - Look for the green circles with the white Ps and park FREE on Saturdays and Sundays (& City Holidays) year round. It's that simple!

- Coming downtown for happy hour / dinner? City of Boulder Parking Garages are only $3 between 3pm - 3am on weekdays. BOOM!

- Parking on the street? Download the ParkMobile app for parking as easy as 1, 2, 3.

- Parking in a city garage? The City's garages have gone gateless! To register for garage parking, just enter your license plate and credit card information on the Metropolis website ONE time and then park (and leave) with ease in any of the city- owned garages.
