This month, Dean Nitecki reflects back on the 2020 presidential election and the role libraries play in facilitating and encouraging voting.

Throughout October, the Libraries hosted Countdown to Vote, a webinar series aimed at helping the Drexel community become politically active and informed voters.


Open Access Week, an international event promoting open access to research, returned in October. The Libraries celebrated with several virtual events and contributed to the conversation through its social media channels.


Drexel faculty members explain the significance of free and immediate online access to research, as well as how their colleagues can get involved with the Open Access movement.

The (virtual) fall ScholarSip event will feature guest speaker Usama Bilal, PhD, MPH, MD, Assistant Professor at Drexel's Dornsife School of Public Health.

Professor Bilal will address this year's theme, "Responding to COVID-19 through Research and Scientific Problem Solving."

This event is open to all members of the Drexel community and the public.
