TOMORROW - Parent Ed: Growth Mindset Presentation with Dr. Blake Brandes

Join us for an inspiring Growth Mindset Presentation featuring TEDx speaker and America’s Got Talent performer Dr. Blake Brandes. With a Ph.D. in global youth cultures, Dr. Brandes has presented to over 500,000 students, parents, and educators worldwide. He will share proven strategies to help your child become happier, more successful, and less stressed, empowering them to thrive both in school and life. This in-person event will take place in the Multi, and kids are welcome to join with their parents.

As an award-winning beatboxer and rapper, Dr. Brandes will also perform a special hip-hop piece. Don’t miss this exciting event on October 1st at 6 pm! Last time he was here, the event was well-attended, and we’re hoping for the same success again.

Paint Night: A Creative Success

Thanks to all who attended the second annual Paint Night! About 100 participants came to express themselves creatively and paint a sunset scene. Many thanks to event lead Anu Agarwal, artist and instructor Tejas Patil, student volunteers Sara and Diya, and parent volunteers Nitin, Sandra, Shanthi, and Kristen!

Golden Shoe Competition starts 10/1

Tuesday Oct 1 is the kickoff for Cherry Chase's Walk & Roll Golden Shoe Competition! The competition features both individual prizes and class prizes for kids that walk or roll to school. Please see the attached flyer for more details.

Fall Festival Coming Soon

Mark your calendars for our annual PTA Fall Festival on Oct 25 from 2:30-4:30 pm! More details to follow in a special eBlast this week. 

We're still looking for a volunteer music coordinator and DJ for the event. Email fallfestival@cherrychasepta.org if you are interested.

Cherry Chase Diwali Celebration – Leads Urgently Needed!

The Cherry Chase Diwali event is scheduled for Nov 15th, but we can only make it happen with your help. Many roles need to be filled in the next couple weeks or we will need to consider canceling. Help needed includes: Diwali co-chair, Communications team, Food team, Fashion show team, Decorations team. Many roles can be done from home. Join the Garden Club

Join the Cherry Chase Garden Club after school. Members meet weekly 10/1-12/11, 2:45 - 3:45pm, rain or shine, to dig, plant, weed, harvest, and explore. There's still space! Sign up: Gr 3-5/Tuesday class or Gr 1-3/Wednesday class. This class is made possible by Cherry Chase PTA. Parent volunteers and donations are welcome (suggested donation $25 per student).

The monthly Pokemon Club is returning this Tuesday, Oct 1. Thanks, Mrs. Smith, for advising the students! In support of our students' interests, Cherry Chase PTA is providing a grant to sponsor this popular student gathering.

Cherry Chase PTA Supports Measure Y

On Nov 5, voters in the Sunnyvale School District will be asked to renew the District’s $59 per year parcel tax, Measure Y. First approved in 2011, the parcel tax has raised approximately $1.1 million annually to support teachers and classroom programs.
