Hello Long Beach State,
As we end the fall semester, it’s time to reflect and celebrate the collective efforts, milestones and invaluable experiences that have shaped our community and propelled us forward.
This past semester has been a productive and transformative time for ASI. Throughout the year, our Senate has worked hard to support the opposition to the CSU Multi-Year Tuition Increase as well as transparency in our organization regarding the Fiscal Accountability and Transparency Initiative. Additionally, the launch of the Beach Shop’s 2024 digital-first textbook program is a major advancement supported by our student government. This semester also shared a glimpse into the advocation for students’ rights and the implementation of projects by ASI facilities. Programs like the grand opening of the Grow Beach Garden new location, the building and opening of the new Esports Lounge in the University Student Union (USU) and continued progress on the Future U expansion and renovation project were pivotal strides towards our students’ futures.
As I reflect, I am reminded of how exceptionally grateful and honored I am to serve our Long Beach State University (LBSU) community as ASI President. And looking back, I am exceptionally proud of the tireless dedication and impactful work ASI as a whole has executed for our Beach family. Together, we've provided services and pushed progress, with a shared dedication to enhancing the university experience for all.
Before we conclude, I want to remind you all about the events ASI has lined up to support us through finals. From Dec. 12 to 18, ASI is hosting fun activities for all students to participate in at the USU North Lawn. Or maybe you need a moment to relax; whether it be relaxing in a hammock or succulent pot painting, ASI’s Finals Week events are the perfect place to take care of your mental health during such a stressful time. Additionally, for those late-night study sessions, the USU will have extended hours. For more information, visit asicsulb.org/finals.
Good luck with your finals and happy holidays!
Go Beach!
