Summer has arrived; camp is in full swing!

Cambridge Camping is planning a big event

and celebrating a milestone birthday.

Off to the races...

After an exciting week of staff orientation, campers have been exploring the Nashoba Brooks School campus (our new home this summer!), reuniting with old friends, making new friends, and building a strong camp community.

Favorite camp activities have been catching frogs and turtles; sharing cultural backgrounds and creating self portraits; rehearsing a theater production in the performing arts center; visiting Kimball Farm, the Discovery Museum, and Magazine Beach; and making fairy houses in the woods!

Campers are excited for what the rest of the summer brings!

Kenzo’s mom approached Cambridge Camping about an overnight camp opportunity, seeking a summer experience where Kenzo could shine. After a rough four years for Kenzo’s family, including a house fire, COVID, and family changes, his mother told the CCAccess program coordinator “Although I have an okay job, I live paycheck to paycheck. Kenzo holds a lot of feelings in. I chose this camp because they have a social worker on staff. I want him to be occupied and doing fun things to get his mind off of any negativity. I want Kenzo to have a chance and to make it far. If he has these opportunities to show him more in life, I know he will make it big!”

Our CCAccess scholarship program helped support Kenzo for 4 weeks at an overnight camp. Kenzo is thriving and begging for more! He loves his cabin and cabin-mates, the activities, and even the food!

Kenzo's story is an example of the joy, growth, and positivity that come from children accessing summer camp experiences that meet their needs, with staff that can support them. We feel privileged to be able to help families like Kenzo's, and

are overjoyed to hear about his success at overnight camp! Kenzo is one of 60 children served through our CCAccess scholarship program in 2023.

We want all children to have the same opportunity, and we need your help.

Charitable giving is down across the country, and we are feeling it!

We have to raise $9,000 to close our summer budget gap;

we're appealing to you.

Support Cambridge Camping Today

We are loving working with Xilio Therapeutics, a biotechnology company discovering and developing immuno-oncology therapies with the goal of significantly improving outcomes for people living with cancer. Xilio CEO, Rene Russo reached out to Cambridge Camping during the pandemic to find camp placements for children who needed a camp community but could not afford tuition. That successful effort sparked a connection! Over the past 2 years, Xilio has been a corporate supporter, worked with CCA on an employee matching donor program, hosted Cambridge Camping Co-Executive Directors at a staff retreat where they spoke to over 100 employees, and held an employee give-back event where Xilio bought, and stuffed, 170 backpacks that were given to campers on opening day. This week, a group of Xilio employees and family members spent a half a day at camp playing field games and having lunch with campers. Cambridge Camping, Xilio employees, and our campers are sharing unique experiences that enhance programming, build relationships and increase our capacity to serve. We are incredibly grateful for Xilio's continued support and dedication to Cambridge Camping's mission!

"Many children in our local communities don't have the means or opportunity to participate in summer camp, further widening the education and opportunity gaps that already exist. This is why at Xilio, we are proud to partner with Cambridge Camping to ensure more children have access to summer camp opportunities where they can grow and learn from new experiences, build their confidence, hone leadership skills, and create friendships that can last a lifetime."

Cambridge Camping is Celebrating a 130 years!

This summer marks 130 years of Cambridge Camping working in the community. While much has changed in that time, our mission has not. Since 1893 and born out of a desire to address inequity, Cambridge Camping has made out of school and summer programming accessible to children and youth from under-resourced circumstances.
