In the spirit of Hispanic Heritage Month, “Pioneers of Change: Shaping the Future Together,” we’d like to share how our organization is working to support Latinx students across the state.

Over the past several months, we’ve participated in the Sesiones Cultivando cohort to develop tools, build capacity, and navigate large grant applications to expand our impact. We have also connected with an incredible network of fellow nonprofit leaders who have enriched the experience, provided pathways to partnerships, and strengthened our commitment to collaboration. We’re excited to continue this work in the months to come!

The Sesiones Cultivando cohort is made possible by the Hispanic Access Foundation and their Community Navigators program in partnership with the USDA Forest Service. We are grateful for their hard work building extensive community networks to support Latinx-serving nonprofits like ours.

Our team recently completed the 4 Seasons of Reconciliation program, a year-long initiative facilitated by the First Nations University of Canada to deepen our understanding of Truth and Reconciliation with Indigenous communities. Throughout this learning journey, we completed modules in foundational knowledge, Indigenous perspectives, and the historical context of reconciliation, representing a meaningful step toward integrating reconciliation efforts into our organizational practices.
