The Township of Mulmur is seeking community input on the following proposed music festival:

 

Lit Galaxy Festival

Mulmur-Melancthon Townline

June 28, 29, 30, 2024

Anticipated Attendance: 25,000

 

Residents and agencies will be given the opportunity to ask questions and speak to the applicant, as well as provide feedback to Council to assist in their decision making.

Be part of our 2023 Christmas Display Contest and help spread the holiday spirit throughout Mulmur!


Whether it is your home, your business, your school, church or club let's dress up Mulmur this holiday season.

Properties must be located in Township of Mulmur.

You can decorate your home or your property entrance, but the display must be visible from the road.

Use of LEDs light are encouraged


Entry Deadline: December 16, 2023 at 4:00 pm.


Top three locations will be selected December 17-19.


Prizes will be given for 1st place, 2nd place and 3rd place.

Community Grants and Recognitions

 

The following grants and recognition programs are now open:

 

2024 Community Grant - provides financial assistance to eligible applicants to assist with programs, projects, activities and community events that advance Council’s strategic priorities. Completed applications must be received by February 1, 2024 to be considered. Applications received after February 1st will only be considered based on budget availability.

 

Business Recognition - Mulmur is committed to recognizing businesses and not-for profit organizations in the Township. If you, or someone you know has a business or organization that deserves recognition for length of service, new business or outstanding achievement, submit a completed application form to clerk@mulmur.ca

Family Transition Place – Wrapped in Courage Proclamation

At their meeting on November 1, 2023 Council has proclaimed November 25 as the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Again Women and urge all citizens to recognize this day by taking action to support survivors of gender-based violence and becoming part of Ontario wide efforts to end gender-based violence.

Primrose Elementary School Boundary Review


A Public Information Session is scheduled for November 22, 2023, from 6-8 pm in the Gymnasium at Primrose ES. The purpose of the public meeting is for Board staff to share information from the Initial Boundary Review Report, gather feedback and answer any questions. 


Additional details will be provided in advance of the public meeting.

Council will propose to adopt the 2024 Budget and a Lynn Topping, Trustee of the Upper Grand District School Board will be in attendance to discuss the proposed boundary review for the Primrose Elementary School.

Thomson Trail Ice Rink


We still need volunteers to help with the set up and weekly maintenance of the rink. This is a great opportunity for high school students to earn community hours while giving back to the community. We welcome and appreciate the support of anyone who is willing to lend a hand.

Winter Road Maintenance


Residents are reminded that vehicles are not allowed to be parked on any street, road allowance, sidewalk or municipal parking lot within the Township of Mulmur during the winter season from December 1, 2023 to March 31, 2024.


Vehicles parked or abandoned on any Township road allowance or parking lot so as to obstruct snow removal equipment, will be referred to the OPP and removed at the owner’s expense.


The Township of Mulmur and/or its employees will not be liable for any damage done by snow removal equipment to vehicles parked or abandoned on the road allowance, or damage caused to vehicles by removal operations.
