A monthly newsletter from DART President & CEO Nadine Lee
JANUARY 2024
Hello Community Partners:
Happy New Year! The start of a new calendar gives us a chance to reflect on the successes and challenges of the last year. Here at DART, we are working hard to maintain our momentum and build upon our achievements.
Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson passed away on Dec. 31, 2023, resulting in the loss of a dear friend to the community and a champion of DART and public transit. Rep. Johnson was a pioneer and a woman of tremendous integrity and commitment. You’ll want to read more about how she accelerated the buildout of DART. We will miss her very much.
We are starting the new year by reviewing the 2023 Customer Satisfaction survey results and evaluating them through the lens of the forthcoming Strategic Plan. You can read more about the findings and areas of improvement here.
We look forward to bringing you more exciting updates and insightful articles.

DART Mourns the Loss of Eddie Bernice Johnson
On Dec. 31, 2023, DART lost one of its greatest champions, retired U.S. Representative Eddie Bernice Johnson. Through her efforts as one of the agency’s biggest advocates, she helped DART obtain the federal funding it needed to make the DART System what it is today.
For over a decade, DART has surveyed its riders annually to gauge their satisfaction with riding DART and to identify areas of strength and opportunity.
The results of the annual customer satisfaction survey provide a means to measure our progress as we strive to continuously improve our services and the rider experience.
Rodney Schlosser, a member of the DART Board of Directors, began a two-year term as the Vice Chair of the DART Board this past October. The Dallas City Council appointed Schlosser to the board in 2020.
Each month, we will spotlight a city in the DART Service Area and the service that DART provides.
Cockrell Hill is a bedroom community surrounded by Dallas. Following the August 1983 election that created DART, Cockrell Hill joined the transit agency in late 1983.
