Holiday Package Theft Protection Tips

As more people choose online shopping, the opportunities for “porch pirates” to take advantage of free gifts are on the rise. Beach Sand Re-Nourishment Project To Begin!

The City is excited to announce that the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) and Manson Construction are set to initiate this project this Monday, December 11th, marking the beginning of this long-awaited project which will create a new, 150-foot wide sandy beach, providing shoreline protection, recreational and environmental benefits. Although actual sand placement of sand is expected to begin in January, before the sand can be placed on the beach, a pipeline, through which sand will be pumped to the beach, must be installed along the ocean floor. That work will occur this Monday, December 11th and Tuesday, December 12th and will involve a few boats near-shore, and some vehicles on the beach. Public safety is paramount, so there will be temporary closures of small portions of the beach and water surrounding the dredge pipeline and also during sand placement operations. Signs will be posted to inform the public of this operation and restricted areas to ensure the protection of the public during the beach restoration.
