Do You Prefer In-Person Training? Reserve by Feb. 12 for the Houston Certified Insulation Inspector Course


NIA's only scheduled in-person Certified Inspector course for this year will take place in Houston, Texas, Feb. 27-Mar. 1. Spots are filling up fast for this 4-day, 2-part course to educate insulation inspectors on how to evaluate installation work and determine whether it is compliant with mechanical insulation specifications. OSHA Updates: Civil Penalty Adjustment, Injury and Illness Data


OSHA Civil Penalty Amounts Adjusted for 2024

The U.S. Department of Labor announced changes to OSHA’s civil penalty amounts based on cost-of-living adjustments for 2024, effective Jan. 16, 2024. OSHA’s maximum penalties for serious and other-than-serious violations increased from $15,625 per violation to $16,131 per violation. The maximum penalty for willful or repeated violations increased from $156,259 per violation to $161,323 per violation. Details here:www.osha.gov/penalties.


OSHA’s Injury and Illness Tracking

Employers that meet certain size and industry criteria must provide 2023 injury and illness data to OSHA by Mar. 2, 2024. Details here: www.osha.gov/injuryreporting.

Call for Articles for 2024 Insulation Outlook Magazine


Insulation Outlook is published as a way for NIA members to reach engineers, architects, project designers, and specifiers to educate them on mechanical insulation applications, specifications, and products. The 2024 planning calendar is below, but additional topics are encouraged. Articles on other applications (chilled water systems, steam piping, data center piping, direct buried systems, domestic plumbing, etc.) are welcome at any time.
