Family Engagement Professional Development

Parents are their children’s first and most important teachers. This makes the connection between early childhood educators and parents (family engagement) essential. Through our Family Engagement Professional Development courses, educators can learn more about building relationships with families, supporting them in tracking children’s development, connecting to play-based home activities, and hosting family events. Plus this course series is available for all users! All you need to do is create a free account and then log in to CLI Engage.

Robbin Parish Awardee

Michael A. Assel, PhD, was recognized as the 2024 Robbin Parrish Award honoree by The Parish School during their 16th Annual “Giving Voice to Children” Luncheon for his commitment to supporting students and families at the school. Over the years, he has provided comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations to many of their students.

New Research Faculty

Dr. Ellison conducts specialized evaluations of children and adolescents with established or suspected neurodevelopmental differences including autism spectrum disorder (ASD), intellectual developmental disorder and other co-occurring difficulties (e.g., learning, motor, attention).

KCEC Pilot Study

The Kindergarten Classroom Environment Checklist (KCEC) Pilot Study aims to enhance the effectiveness of the KCEC tool on CLI Engage. Used to observe the classroom setting, the free checklist evaluates key features like instructional tools, materials, and classroom arrangement. Study participants play a crucial role in improving the KCEC tool and supporting optimal learning environments for kindergarten students. Learn more about our study.

Circle Activity Collection Filming Project

We are seeking English- and Spanish-speaking classrooms and families to be featured in videos for the Circle Activity Collection. We need volunteers in the Houston area to demonstrate activities that support and strengthen children's skill development. A coaching team member and professional videographer will assist participants during a short filming session in the comfort of your classroom or home. This summer, we will be hosting our annual TSR Institute exclusively online! Open to administrators, specialists, coaches, teachers, and caregivers of children ages birth to five from various programs.
