Zoe Daniel is the community-backed independent member for Goldstein, elected at the federal election in 2022. She was elected as a new MP in a formerly safe seat to represent Goldstein on four key policy pillars: • Urgent climate action • A vibrant economy for the future • Integrity in government • Equality and safety for women She is also a mum, wife, former broadcast journalist, and foreign correspondent. In nearly 30 years of reporting, Zoe has covered natural disasters, conflict, economics and politics, and all manner of news around the world. She has also been a rural and regional journalist, a business and finance reporter, and a foreign affairs specialist, interviewing and interacting with prime ministers, treasurers and some of Australia’s top CEOs and small businesspeople.
Dr Monique Ryan
Independent Federal Member for seat of Kooyong
Dr Monique Ryan was elected to the federal seat of Kooyong in May 2022. Formerly Director of the Neurology Department of the Royal Children’s Hospital Melbourne and a Professor of Medicine at both Melbourne and Monash Universities, she is the first woman and the first Independent to hold the seat of Kooyong. She and her husband have raised three children in the electorate, and want their children to have the same opportunities that they have had; confidence in their futures, secure employment and the ability to afford a home. Dr Ryan is committed to action on climate change, integrity and transparency in government, evidence-based healthcare, and gender equity.
Sara McKerihan
Managing Director, Vice Chair, Australia and New Zealand, Citi
Sara was recently appointed Vice Chair for Australia and New Zealand, relocating from New York to Sydney. She will focus on growing the bank’s strategic relationships with key clients. Sara was previously in the Global Client and Relationship Management Group, based in New York. Sara joined Salomon Brothers as a salesperson with particular responsibility for Central Banks in non-US dollar markets. In 1989, she played a key role in forming the specialised European Government Group, which now covers all the major European markets. In 1999 she was appointed Head of Fixed Income Sales for Asia Pacific, and relocated to Hong Kong, where she was responsible for managing a sales team covering all countries throughout the region. She was also made a member of the Asia Pacific Management Committee. In 2002, she relocated to New York to cover Global Hedge Funds within Fixed Income and in 2007 transitioned to the newly formed Global Relationship Management team. Sara has a Bachelor's Degree in Commerce from Newcastle University and graduated from the Development Program for Managers from the University of New South Wales. Sara also serves on the boards of the American Australian Association and the American Friends of the National Gallery of Australia, and is a former board member of 100 Women in Finance.
