Disaster Policy Lunch & Learn

Community organizations in Sonoma County are fighting for policy changes to ensure all community members are safe during a disaster and have all the resources the need to recover and resume their lives.


Join COAD and Legal Aid of Sonoma County for linch and learn about local and statewide campaigns for equitable disaster policy. This is the first of a series of policy action conversations COAD will hosting for members in 2024.

Discover how to create a communication plan for your staff and volunteers, identify your organization's disaster communication needs for clients and members, including when and how to share county notices, and sign up to help others receive county emergency alerts. At this meeting attendees will learn more about CalAIM and how providers serving children and families might be able to tap into the CalAim funding stream. The presenter will identify the complexities of CalAIM, what is covered and learn about funding opportunities that are available.

Resource from the California Health Foundation: Consent Management Processes for Implementation of Data Exchange and CalAIM


This paper outlines the key components required to expand consent management services from county-level pilots to a statewide information exchange. It emphasizes the importance of informed consent in facilitating data sharing, thereby enhancing service delivery and improving health outcomes. Key recommendations include accelerating the adoption of state legal interpretations of consent to share, advancing technology and policy for consent management, developing standardized consent forms, and establishing statewide consent management programs in collaboration with agencies beyond CalHHS.

Resource from the Multi-Association Data Exchange Framework (DxF) Education Initiative: DxF Implementation Toolkit

The Multi-Association Data Exchange Framework (DxF) Education Initiative is excited to share the DxF Implementation Toolkit to support organizations as they prepare to be compliant with the DxF, which goes live on January 31, 2024. 


Each section of the toolkit provides activities for your organization to undertake, questions to consider, and exercises to assess your readiness, understand the impact of the DxF policies and procedures, and explore available technology and data sharing mechanisms for secure and appropriate information exchange under the DxF.
