MESSAGE FROM OUR CEO, VERONICA COOL

Colegas,
As Hispanic Heritage Month wraps up, our team has been working arduously alongside our community and partners to acknowledge and commemorate the diversity and richness of Hispanic culture, while celebrating the contributions of Latinos and Hispanics in the United States.
We kicked-off our Hispanic Heritage Month Series with three informative events
and guests that brought distinct perspectives on how Hispanics are transforming our communities. For the first session: The State of Latinos: What to expect, Census Updates & Why This Matters, Jens Manuel Krogstad from the Pew Research Center shared the latest data on the diversity of Latinos, countries of origin, language, and the findings from the 2020 Census. The CliffsNotes version: Latinos are one of the fastest growing segments of the population.
Session Two:
The Latino Influence & Impact: Voting, Boards & Power we discussed empowerment and impact with Delegate Joseline Peña-Melnyk from the Maryland House of Delegates and Ozzie Gromada Meza of the Latino Corporate Directors Association. They shared insight on navigating the journey to become corporate board director, running for office (and getting elected!!), and the tremendous need and impact of having Latino representation on corporate boards and every level of governments.
Session Three:
For the rest of Hispanic Heritage Month, we will continue the dialogue with our final event on October 15th with Lupi Quinteros Grady from the Latin American Youth Center and Gustavo Torres from CASA to discuss Latinos & The Future: Workforce, Education and Empowerment. We hope to see you there!
Throughout this month of continued commemorations and festivals (including Fiesta Baltimore-pictured to the right), I'm grateful for our team members, partners, clients, and community members. The truth is when we work together, we grow together. Continue taking care of one another, getting vaccinated, and wearing your masks, we are almost at the the finish line!
Un abrazo,
Veronica Cool
