Risking Women's Lives, an Ohio Judge Blocks Informed Consent Law on Abortion

The state of Ohio currently has a state law that requires a 24-hour waiting period after an initial in-person appointment before a woman can have an abortion, as well as an informed consent provision to inform the woman of all her options regarding pregnancy and adoption.

Earlier this spring, Planned Parenthood and The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) filed a lawsuit seeking to remove the mandatory 24-hour waiting period for women pursuing abortion, which is legally required to take place after they receive information about the abortion.

Judge David Young of Franklin County Common Pleas Court granted the preliminary injunction against the laws saying they violated Ohio’s new abortion amendment.

This ruling is not just a set back for the pro-life movement in general, but also carries with it an increased risk to women's emotional and physical health.

Pro-life Organization Opens a Baseball Field for Disabled People in Michigan

The Knights of Columbus worked with over 40 councils in the Archdiocese of Detroit to unveil a new baseball field or individuals with special needs ages 16 and up.

They managed to raise $63,000 for the cause and the field will be used by the Clinton Valley Little League Challenger Division Senior League.

Council member, Chris Butts stated that participants in the league have various levels of physical limitations, including those who require walkers and those who need assistance with swinging the bat and being pushed between bases.

However, whatever degree of mobility, Butts said, “when they get that smile on their face after they get a hit, it’s impossible to describe the feeling.”
