NOVA Thrift Shop is the Place for Holiday Gifts and Décor!

Hello NTS shoppers! The holidays are right around the corner and NOVA Thrift Shop is a great place to find holiday gifts and decor! We have many brand new items still in packaging/with tags that we save throughout the year to put out for your holiday gifting needs as well as a variety of holiday décor items to make your home the perfect holiday haven. And don’t forget to check out our silent auction where you might find your perfect gift for your loved one.

• NOVA Thrift Shop will be closed Thursday, November 23^rd and Friday, November 24^th for the Thanksgiving Holiday.

• NTS is in need of volunteers! If you are looking for a fun and rewarding place where you can help make a difference, NOVA Thrift is the place! We offer flexible shifts and hours and provide training to all new volunteers. If you or someone you know is interested in volunteering, please contact the shop at 215-249-8000.

• We are now accepting Christmas tree donations! Artificial trees will be accepted at the shop through December 25th. Trees must include all pieces (stands, working lights if applicable, etc.) and be in good condition.

 Many thrift shops are small business that give back to your local community. When you shop at these thrift shops, you help support the cause they are advocating for. NOVA Thrift Shop supports NOVA! NOVA is the comprehensive victim services agency in Bucks County, serving all victims of crime and providing prevention education programs. NOVA Thrift Shop is one of the largest revenue sources for NOVA, surpassed only by the federal and state government!

2. It’s better for the environment

Every year millions of tons of waste end up in landfills. When you thrift an item, you are essentially keeping it out of the landfill and extending the product lifecycle. Along with reducing product waste, you are decreasing the amount of packing waste (cardboard boxes, envelopes, wrapping plastic bags etc.) it would take to buy a new product. Lastly, you are reducing the amount of carbon emissions it would generate to manufacture and ship a new item to its final destination.

3. It's more thoughtful

Putting together a thrifted gift is a way to show someone you care. It shows them that you took extra time out of your day to plan the items within their gift, shop for them, and put everything together for them to unwrap!

4. Thrifting adds a sense of excitement

In today's e-commerce world, most items are purchased with the click of a button and delivered right to your doorstep. Thrifting your gifts means that you get to go on a treasure hunt for unique items that you believe deserve a new home. Thrifting adds a sense of excitement and thrill that you don’t receive when you buy online or in a brick-and-mortar store.

5. Secondhand gifts don’t break the bank

Shopping secondhand is oftentimes less expensive than buying new. Many thrift stores have unique items, high quality brands, and new items still in packaging/with tags. All it takes is a little bit of searching for a lot of savings!

Join NOVA for the 2023 Holiday Gift Program as we help provide assistance to victims of crime!

Each year, NOVA works with donors, staff, and volunteers to provide gifts and gift cards to our clients who are in need. Each person/family selected for our annual Holiday Gift Program has been personally affected by sexual assault or crime, and has proven their need to their NOVA advocate or counselor. Crime can have a devastating impact on families, both emotionally and financially, and gift card donations can help to ease their financial burden and allow them to focus on healing while making their holidays brighter.

Your donation will enable clients to gather what they need most for the holiday. For some, that will be a special toy their child is hoping to receive under the tree, for others it could mean tasty treats for a holiday meal, essential items for their household, or the ability to get to and from their appointments at NOVA.
