A Message from Rabbi Zimmerman
Dear Friends,
In the last few days, we welcomed over 100 congregants for conversations about Israel. Talking with and supporting one another is more important now than ever. I believe face to face conversations help us to share our fears, concerns, hopes, and dreams more authentically.
Connecting with our community can bring us strength and comfort. I hope that you will join us at Temple for onegs preceding our erev Shabbat services at 5:15 p.m. on Fridays. I thank Abbi Rose & Michael Blum for sponsoring these onegs at this important time. Together, we will lift our voices in song and prayer as we welcome Shabbat, affirming our connection with Jews around the world.
When we gathered earlier this week, we discussed the questions below, and I invite you to reflect on them, either on your own or with friends and family.
Questions for reflection:
- Where were you when you heard about what was happening in Israel and what were your initial feelings?
- What has been helpful, what has been hurtful in regards to all that is happening- including people's response to you regarding Israel?
- What are your fears and your hopes and dreams for the future?
B'virkat shalom - With blessings of peace,
