LAUNCH OF 2024 CAMA CONFERENCE

HOTEL ROOM BLOCK

The 50th Annual CAMA Conference will be held from Monday, June 3 to Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel in Banff, Alberta. The Golf Tournament and other Pre-Conference activities will begin on Monday morning and the Conference Program will end after the President's Dinner on Wednesday evening. Delegates typically arrive on the Sunday and depart on the Thursday.

The hotel room block will be launched on Tuesday, September 26th, 2023 at 12:00 Noon EST. CAMA has negotiated a Conference rate at the host hotel and you won't want to miss this opportunity to book your room early.

LAUNCH OF FALL 2023 CAMA MASTERMINDS NETWORKING FORUM ON

TUESDAY, AUGUST 1, 2023 at 12:00 NOON EST

You will receive an e-mail in your inbox on Tuesday August 1, 2023 at 12:00 Noon EST with a deadline to register on Thursday, August 10, 2023. Below is some information for your review so that you can check your calendars in advance.

Masterminds is a virtual networking forum with a small group of your CAMA colleagues to provide a safe, confidential space to explore sensitive issues and challenging operational programs. This group is meant to provide some candid pragmatic advice on how to manage complex problems that you may have already experienced or that you may encounter in the future. 

CAMA is pleased to offer regular CAMA members four forums for the Fall 2023, with three being held in English and one in French. 

HOW DOES MASTERMINDS WORK?

TIME COMMITMENT: Masterminds will consist of one moderated session per month (with a facilitator) for 1.5 hours for a period of four months beginning in September 2023 and ending in December 2023.  See the dates of the sessions below.

COST TO ATTEND: This networking opportunity is FREE but registration is required.

SIZE OF GROUP: The maximum group size will be twelve CAMA members per session. 

TOPICS: The topic for each session will be chosen by the group based on consensus. 

DATES AND TIMES OF SESSIONS

The sessions will be held on the following dates and times which are set in advance (to accommodate all time zones) so you can check your calendar before you sign up. Attending all four sessions is not a requirement, however it is encouraged to provide you with the opportunity to build a great network.

City of St. Albert Strategic Framework

A quest for common good and delivery of value to communities and regions is at the heart of many municipal organizations. Challenges are often multiple and competing priorities, misalignment between plans, change initiatives, budget constraints and delivery of services.

At the City of St. Albert, Alberta, we use our Strategic Framework to guide our planning and decision-making practices. The Framework embodies a systems-design approach that promotes an organization-wide, collaborative culture focused on achieving key outcomes that come directly from our community and City Council.

Tied into a robust Council policy and planning framework, the Framework promotes systems thinking and encourages integrated decision-making to align strategic and business planning, budgeting, management and reporting practices and processes.
