The Mountain Capital Campaign News

Our Progress Is Exciting!

Amazing progress for projects is taking place:

  • Two staff housing buildings (top left) include walls and roofs. Plumbing, electrical, and HVAC has begun.
  • UU Columbia (SC) members are impressed (top right)! This is really sturdy construction, the headers are tripled and 2x6 exterior walls ensuring good insulation -- the framing is built to last. ~~Kevin M.
  • The Craft Barn renovation is nearly complete
  • Permitting and survey prep work is underway on the lake dam

As of today, we've raised

$1,766,885.55

towards our $3.2 million+ goal

"Thank you" to all our Roots & Wings capital campaign

donors who are making this possible. You are part of providing for projects that enhance guest needs, expand program capabilities, improve basic infrastructure, and accelerate current Mountain initiatives.

Because we are committed to no debt, progress is made as donations are received.

What's Best About The Mountain?

The Relationships We Build

Each year The Mountain hosts guests in youth

camps and CONferences, music programs,

congregational retreats, spirituality programs, affinity groups, holiday celebrations, and much more.

This generational investment will provide more

life-enriching experiences for youth and adults.

Above are some of the many people making valuable connections at The Mountain.

They are making new friends, communing with nature, and gaining

insight into who they are and their place in the world.

One Donor's Message

A Special Place -- Laird Parry

My grandparents, Judge Harvey Parry and Maud Montgomery Parry, bought the top of Little Scaly Mountain in 1908. Ever since then It has been a place where young (and not-so-young) people could come and discover a new world: from Camp Parrydise outdoor adventure camp for girls to The Mountain Retreat and Learning Center.

It is a very special place and we need to keep it that way. The Parry Family is proud to support the Capital Campaign, and we hope you will too.

Questions? Go to "Roots & Wings" at the Mountain for more information about the projects in this campaign, including cabin upgrades, staff housing, technology enhancements, numerous structural repairs, and more.
