Fall Church Conference Schedules

I have met with most churches, and look forward to meeting with a few more in the coming weeks. This year, nearly all conferences were held jointly with other area United Methodist congregations so that, in addition to caring for the ordering of ministry for the coming year as individual congregations, we may look at some possibilities for collaborative ministry that might strengthen and broaden our mission and ministry. Since most of the “business” of the Church Conference is prepared beforehand by various teams within the church to receive final vote at the Church Conference, the majority of our time together will be spent on collaboration.

Blessings! Rev. Debbie Earthrowl, Adirondack and Albany District Superintendent

READING FOR THE DAY

Hebrews 11:1-3

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

I will place my hope and faith in God’s tomorrow.

TODAY'S PRAYER

Dear God, remind us that you know what is best for us. We commit our will to yours. Amen.

Finding Hope and Meaning: Part 38

It was a cold windy day and the branches of all the trees at the Edinburg Beach were bare except for this one small Oak Tree at the entrance to the beach. It continued to proclaim that Fall was not over yet.

In the midst of the day’s tragic news there continue to be signs that proclaim that hope is still alive. Despite the voices that proclaim that the homeless are a problem, there are those who provide shelter and food. Amid apparent disregard for the effects of climate change are those who are implementing changes to address the problem. In the face of the loss of innocent life from armed conflict there are protests that proclaim this is not who the human race is and those who work for reconciliation.

God is not idle in the midst of the evil that exists in our world. God’s love reaches out in countless ways through those who are touched by the Holy Spirit. Those who are part of Faith Communities today as in the past continue to be channels of God’s love.

Today’s image was taken at Edinburg Beach on November 1.

Previous photo devotions can be seen on my blog at Blog Posts – Daily Photo Devotions (wordpress.com). I have done more than 1,200 Daily Photo Devotions, most of which can be seen on my blog.

There is something happening every Thursday at St. Paul’s Church in Castleton!

Our church is located at 1583 Carney Rd., Castleton.

Every Thursday we gather for fellowship and to Recharge. Recharge is a simple worship service for busy people who are hungry to spend time with God. This informal 30-minute worship begins at 6 PM. We sing, reflect on God’s word, and eat a meal together. After dinner is time to talk, play games, or work on an art project. It’s great to share our thoughts and experiences of God’s grace! All are welcome; come as you are and hang out as long as you wish through 8 PM.

In months with a fifth Thursday, we do an all-church mission to help those in need throughout the community and throughout the world. These specifics are announced in person and on social media at https://www.facebook.com/StPaulsCastleton/
