Small Groups

Christmas Carols (7pm zoom Mondays Nov. 27-Dec. 18) 

This Advent, you are invited to take time to truly prepare for Christmas in our 4th annual special Advent Small Group. Participants will listen to and learn about some Christmas Carols from Africa: Wahamba Nathi, Emmanuel, God With Us, Sizalelwe Indodana, and Baba Bambelela.

 

Characters of Christmas (6pm Tuesdays Nov. 28-Dec. 19)

We are all familiar with the Nativity story, as told in the Gospel of Luke, but what do we know about the preparations made looking toward the birth of Jesus? Participants will consider how God was preparing His people for the Son to enter into humanity as we study the Silence, the Messenger, the God-bearer, and the Room.

Life Experienced Event

Life Experienced will go as a group to the Fort Worth Greek Festival at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 2020 NW 21st St., Fort Worth on Saturday, November 11 Plan to meet at the entrance of the festival at 12 noon.  Parking and a shuttle to the festival is available at Northside High School, 2211 McKinley Ave.  Be sure to sign up online so we know who to watch for.  Note - this is a cashless venue, so please plan to bring a debit or credit card. Click here to sign up.


All ladies are invited to the LiFT (Ladies in Faith Together) Christmas Tea!

Saturday, December 9th, 1-4 pm at Living Word

We are excited to enjoy some time together as we prepare to celebrate our Savior's birth! We will share some light snacks and tea. Participate in an ornament exchange, pray for God's guidance over our Advent season and our 2024 calendars, reveal our 2023 Prayer Partners, and laugh with friends we know and those we are just meeting. Tea will be provided, we will be asking for volunteers to bring a light snack to share. Also, please prayerfully consider volunteering to be a table hostess (6 lunch settings). Men’s Breakfast & Bible Study

We meet the 2nd Saturday of the month at 7:30 am. Our study is “Walking Together: A Bible Study on the Importance of Fellowship in our Lives as Disciples of Christ.” Click here to sign up. 


Grief Share

Living Word is hosting Grief Share, a class in which participants are able to process through the emotions of grief with others who have also lost someone. Dates and times of Grief Share: Sundays from 1:30-3:30 pm through December 3.

Wednesday Night Alive

All kids ages 3 through 5th grade are invited to “Wednesday Night Alive” - a time of Bible study, music, crafts and fun! It’s a special program designed to develop our walk of discipleship while making lasting friendships. Our theme this year is “The Ordinary made Extraordinary” - how God uses the ordinary to accomplish His

extraordinary plan.

6:00-7:15 PM Wednesday Night Alive! (Preschool-5th Grade)

Sunday Youth Night

Sunday Night Alive (grades 6-12) meets from 6:15-8:30 pm with dinner, games, confirmation/devotional time, and open gym.

Young Adult Discipleship

A group of young adults (age 16-22) get together each Tuesday morning from 7:00-7:45 am at the Starbucks in Westlake. We enjoy some fellowship and working through theological books. Contact David Coulson if you have any questions [email protected].

Thanksgiving Food Drive

We are partnering with Cannon and Dove Elementary Schools in Grapevine to provide food for those in need. Return food items by this Saturday, November 11th, at 9am. Join us on Saturday, November 11th, at 9am to sort and package the items.


Union Gospel Mission Lunches

We will be assembling sack lunches for the homeless of UGM this Sunday, November 12th, after the late service in the Family Life Center.  


Volunteer Opportunity 

We are putting a team together from LWLC to serve as volunteers at the City of Grapevine—Carol of Lights on Monday, November 20th. There are 2 shifts available 3-6:30 and 6-10pm. Carol of Lights takes place on Main Street. It’s the official “Tree lighting ceremony”. Contact Steve Burke if interested [email protected].

Grill Outreach

We will meet in the parking lot of Dove Park on Saturday, November 11th, at 4:30pm where we will cook and provide burgers, chips and water to those at Dove Park. This is a way to provide a meal to our neighbors and a chance to pray for them and share the Gospel. Click here to sign up.


 FriendSpeak

Fridays, 10-11 AM Through May 17

Be a cross-cultural missionary right here in the Family Life Center on Friday mornings. We have international friends living here in our community from all over the world. We need more volunteers to engage in one-to-one English conversation with them. Stories from the Gospel of Luke are used as the content for conversation. Training is provided. This is fun and easy, and a great way to make a new friend. You are not obligated to come every Friday.
