Featured Artist
Artist of the Month: Natalie Searl
Meet our Artist of the Month, Natalie Searl, Monday, October 2, 9 AM - 12 PM
Natalie's artwork will be on display in the library through the end of October.
Artist's Statement:
It is not just about taking pictures; it's about appreciating the world we live in. I like to share my appreciation.
My signature style of photographs is unique: Graphic Imaging of Pipersville prints my digital photograph on canvas. Because the image is on canvas, it doesn’t need glass. I then apply clear acrylic brush strokes to the canvas, which adds protection and gives the picture a painterly look without altering the picture itself.
I’ve been participating in regional juried fine art and craft shows since 2006,
such as the Bucks County Designer House, Byers Bucks Fever at Travis Gallery, the Bucks County Audubon Society, Tinicum Arts Festival, Friends of the Delaware Canal, Gallery on Fourth in Easton, and the Stover Mill Gallery.
I was featured in the Summer 2012 issue of Bucks County Magazine.

The theme for Banned Books Week 2023 is "Let Freedom Read." When we ban books, we're closing off readers to people, places, and perspectives. But when we stand up for stories, we unleash the power that lies inside every book. We liberate the array of voices that need to be heard and the scenes that need to be seen. Let freedom read!

About the presenter: After Dr. Alanna Messner-Scholl stepped back from her career in mental healthcare to focus on raising her two young children, she began flower gardening as a light-hearted hobby. Wharton Esherick (1887 – 1970) was an internationally significant figure in the landscape of art history and American modern design. As a sculptor, Esherick worked primarily in wood and extended his unique forms to furniture, furnishings, interiors, buildings, and more. His motto, “If it isn’t fun, it isn’t worth doing,” is evident in the joyful expression of his work.
Join us as Collections and Public Programs Manager, Ethan Snyder, discusses the legacy of this important American artist, whose work in wood is only one aspect of his art complemented by the paintings, prints, drawings, poetry, and sculpture he also created. With collection’s objects and archival materials, Ethan hopes to share some of his ongoing research today, along with a more general story of who Wharton Esherick was and the things he made.
