On Saturday, October 7, we were honored to commemorate the 25th Annual Harvest Ball on the South Lawn at Valley Children's Hospital. Generous sponsors and guests enjoyed an evening of celebration and expanding horizons with our guest speaker, Astronaut Nicole Stott, a space-themed drone light show, a silent and live auction, and amazing food and friendships. Check out this video recap of our magical evening.
To the tens of thousands who generously support Valley Children's each year, we thank you for helping us provide the best care to the Central Valley's littlest patients. With your support, we look forward to extending even greater care to these young Futures Worth Fighting For.

When it comes to making a difference in the lives of our local kids, Walmart and Sam's Club did an unbelievable job during their 2023 Children's Miracle Network Hospitals campaign! Our 31 Central Valley locations raised $509,865 for Valley Children's Hospital.
We especially would like to extend a huge thank you and congratulations to the top fundraising locations, including top Division One Walmart (Store 1877 in Porterville), top Neighborhood Market (Store 5635 in Visalia) and top Supercenter (Store 4238 in Sanger). Walmart Sanger Supercenter won our top fundraiser trophy this year, having raised an incredible $32,496, nearly doubling their efforts from the previous year. Each of the highest-fundraising locations received a pizza party as a way of celebrating their impactful work! Thank you, Walmart!

Tesoro Viejo hosted its third annual Sip and Support this October, raising $66,602 for Valley Children's Adaptive Sports program (a $15,000 increase over last year's event!). The beautiful day was filled with delicious food and tasty wines from around the Central Valley in Tesoro Viejo's luxurious and relaxing Ranch House.
Special guest Silas, a Valley Children's patient and Adaptive Sports program participant, enjoyed palling around with George. The event included live music and a silent auction. Members of the Adaptive Sports program enjoyed seeing and meeting new friends at the event, including Brent Poppen, who drives in from his home in Paso Robles to be part of Valley Children's Rehabilitation Department and the Adaptive Sports program.
At the check presentation we were honored to have Karen McCaffrey, and Shelly Hartmann of Tesoro Viejo, along with Orthopedic Department's Dr. Jill Friebele, Neuroscience department's Dr. Taylor McAdams, program coordinator for Adaptive Sports Laura Osejo, and members of the Foundation team. We are so grateful to the Tesoro Viejo team for their generous hearts and amazing hospitality!

Central Valley Spirit Halloween stores hosted another unique Spirit of Children's Halloween party for our patients and families at the hospital in October. Each year, Spirit Halloween generously donates costumes, crafts and accessories for our patients to enjoy. Some employees from Central Valley Spirit Halloween stores come to the party at the Valley Children's Hospital Guilds Hall and do crafts with the kids alongside members of the Child Life team.
The Spirit of Children program's mission is to make hospitals less scary for kids and their families through support of the Child Life department at the local children's hospital. Since 2007, they have successfully collected over $110 million in cash and merchandise to support the efforts of Child Life Specialists who provide therapeutic and emotional healing to young patients while doctors and nurses focus on medical treatment. We are so grateful for their continued support of Valley Children's Child Life Program through their in-store campaign. Thank you, Spirit Halloween Stores and employees, for your ongoing support!

Eddie's Bakery Cafe in Fresno ran a campaign throughout the month of September to raise funds for Valley Children's. Their delicious and beautiful George cookies were in demand, and the Valley Children's icon campaign decorated their store all month long.
Owner Ash says the employees and the patrons of Eddie's Bakery Cafe love doing the campaign each year. The many loyal customers of Eddie's love to share their own Valley Children's stories, and the support felt by the community inside the bakery is as warm and sweet as the aromas coming from the kitchen.
