GAME CHANGE HOLDS FIRST WORKSHOP

AND SUMMIT

GAME Change Workshop & Summit Video

On August 23 and 24, the GAME Change coalition hosted its first Major Gap Validation Workshop and Summit at Dale Hollow Lake State Park. More than 100 attendees from industry, institutions of higher education, economic development organizations, workforce training organizations, investment firms and local and state government participated. This event brought stakeholders together to begin to build a plan for developing an innovation ecosystem in the Southeastern Commerce Corridor (SCC) of Kentucky and Tennessee for circular economy technologies for sustainable manufacturing. Topics discussed at the event included:

 

  • Unmet needs of industry and society related to sustainable manufacturing
  • Capabilities of the region to support an innovation ecosystem responsive to identified unmet needs
  • Community impact
  • Inclusive innovation practices
  • Kentucky and Tennessee partnership advantages and needs
  • Working Group next steps for development of respective Game Plans
  • Governance

LAUNCH BLUE ANNOUNCES NINTH UACCEL COHORT

"Launch Blue is pleased to announce, 14 teams have been selected to participate in the 12-week Fall 2023 UAccel Quick Start + I-Corps program. 



UAccel Quick Start + I-Corps offers business development and an experiential learning opportunity to innovators in higher education interested in learning the best commercialization path for their technology. The goal of the program is to advance the technology toward commercialization, including preparations for Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grant applications, the creation of a startup, or licensing of the technology. UAccel Quick Start is organized in partnership with the University of Kentucky Office of Technology Commercialization and Kentucky Commercialization Ventures."

David Lee Kennedy


David Lee Kennedy is the Administrative Assistant for the Office of Technology Commercialization and is responsible for providing administrative support to the OTC team to enhance office operations.


David Lee has an Associate of Arts degree and spent over 8 years in hospitality and post secondary education with Anderson Communities, Sullivan University and Bluegrass Community and Technical College before coming to the University of Kentucky.

Alexa Narel


Alexa Narel is an Innovation Connect Manager for UK Innovate providing dedicated research and innovation economic development partnership support for the Martin-Gatton College of Agriculture, Food & Environment (M-G CAFE).


Alexa holds a bachelor's degree in food science from the University of Kentucky and an MBA from Western Governors University. She previously worked in the Quality Department for Wild Turkey Distillery.
