We are writing you from a time of transition, growth and reflection.   As we approach the 4 th  year of the re-opening of the new Loisaida Inc Center we renew our commitment to support the Lower East Side's and NYC-based Latinx / Caribbean, arts and culture sector.

This end of year newsletter includes just a little about the huge strides we took this year in engaging broad populations, addressing big issues, advancing cultural production, and amplifying our advocacy for media, environmental and cultural equity . Much of this is thanks to you, our participative community and trusted friends, who we owe such a debt of gratitude for believing in our mission. 

It is with pleasure that we note a few of our 2017 achievements.

Loisaida created an eloquent  advocacy document and principles, synthesis of the various event discussions, comments, observations, as well as the overall recommendations that this significant community input process produced on behalf of the Loisaida/Lower East Side community. We offer them confidently, in the spirit of collaboration, and with a commitment to continue to work with the Administration, DCLA, the City Council, as well as with the many residents, cultural workers and artists that we motivated to participate, and became engaged in this planning process.  Download Cultural Plan.
