FALL 2023 EDITION

Wow - we can't believe we're already talking about fall and holiday events! Here we are, though, wrapping up summer and heading into one of the best times of the year.

What a summer it was - we had an amazing Summer Celebration Auction, a nearly sold-out and revamped Summer Concert series, and a jam-packed few months of group trips, train rides, ice cream cones and more (despite some unpredictable New England weather).

We're entering one of the busiest times of the year, with a full slate of events over the last few months of 2023. We're launching our yearly Fall Appeal in supporting our park, expanding upon our already popular Haunted Train to include a new Fall Weekend at Look Park, and growing one of the most popular holiday events in the region, Santa's Trains. This, along with events like Playin' for the Pines in October, excites us to welcome you into the park this fall.

Make sure you stay up-to-date on our social media pages for information about events, announcements, and everything to make your park trip enjoyable. Book your fall picnic sites and pavilion rentals today at 413-584-5457 or stop by our park offices to say hello.

Look forward to seeing you at the park soon!

"I Remember When" - Please support our Fall Appeal!

We posed a question to our park community earlier in 2023 that was met with a resounding response...

"At Look Park, do you remember when...?"

We've heard your favorite park memories, we've laughed with the funny recollections, and we've bonded over the special moments. Put simply, they were as beautiful as we anticipated and we hope that you will continue to submit them.

It truly takes a village of committed individuals, volunteers, and community supporters to keep Look Park the place where lasting memories are created every day. In Western Massachusetts specifically, there are so many nonprofits worthy of support and we are fortunate to work with so many of them in helping serve this great community.

We hope that you will consider contributing to our Fall Appeal so we can finish 2023 as strongly as we started it. As we continue to make improvements and upgrades to the park for our patrons, we do so knowing that we only are able to grow and sustain with your generosity.

We humbly appreciate your consideration and support of Look Memorial Park.

Creating Landscapes for Pollinators

Free Talk Sponsored by the Look Park Garden Committee

Native plants and the crucial role they play in supporting pollinators and other wildlife are getting a lot of attention among gardeners and ecologists. For good reason: “The little things that run the world” are in big trouble, says Heidi Dollard of the Massachusetts Pollinator Network. Insect populations are plummeting and many species are headed for extinction. This spells disaster for our food supply and our ecology. Fortunately, it’s not too late to change this trend, starting in our own yards.

Heidi will give a free talk at the Garden House next month on how gardeners and homeowners — and others — can create beautiful, low-maintenance landscapes that also support pollinators and other wildlife. The talk, sponsored by the Look Park Garden Committee, will be held on Tuesday, September 26, from 5:30 to 7 PM. Free parking is available at the Garden House.

A Master Gardener with a master’s degree in biology, Heidi is on the steering committee of Mass. Pollinators Network.
