La Quinta Coach Named Chargers Coach of the Week

Congratulations to La Quinta High School football coach James Stewart for being named the Chargers OC Coach of the Week! As part of the honor Coach Stewart will be attending a Charger game later this season to be honored with his peers and the Chargers will also be donating $1,000 to the Aztec football program.

The honor comes on the heels of the Aztecs' thrilling last-minute victory over Los Amigos in the opening week of Garden Grove League play. Coach Stewart and the Aztecs are looking to make it 2-0 in league play as they host Loara tonight at Michael A. Monsoon Memorial Stadium.

Irvine Intermediate Helps Students Connect

Irvine Intermediate School teachers and staff continue to focus on supporting students’ academic growth as well as their social-emotional well-being. This year, the school launched “The Kettle Connection Social Club," an engaging and inclusive club that brings together our special education students and general education students during lunchtime to promote friendship, understanding, and enjoyment. The club creates an inclusive environment where students from different backgrounds can interact, play games, and build meaningful connections. It is awesome to see our Hawks SOARING together.

Paine Students Learn How to ROAR

Last Friday, Paine Elementary School hosted a jam-packed assembly celebrating students who received a ROARS award for exemplifying the school’s character traits (Responsible, Organized, Always Kind, Respectful, and Safe). Two students also received Encouragement Soccer Balls from the PureGame staff, who visits the campus at recess and uses the power of sports to teach Paine students good sportsmanship and character. The assembly concluded with a heart-warming thank you to police officers for their service. Students made cards for the officers and the PTO presented them with gift bags and will deliver lunch to the local Garden Grove Police Department. The community was honored to acknowledge a Paine father who serves as a police officer.
