Meet Spud, the turkey's favorite truck on the farm that delivers daily pumpkin treats

Hello Trevor-

It's the week before Thanksgiving deliveries and we're all things "turkey talk". We've been hosting local news stations the last few weeks at the farm and we're on air today with Fox 8. The turkey order form will close end of day Friday, Nov 17th. It's not too late to add on a pie, gravy, or fixings produce pack. Please email by Friday for any order updates.

Extra special order dates for Thanksgiving pick up next week - we will be re-opening the shop on Friday with additional items for special orders that can be picked up next week with turkey orders (Nov 20, 21, 22). We will also have butter available at that time to order as well (we are picking up a fresh batch this week!).

We will be moving into our every-other-week schedule after this week's pick up. The next pick up for Winter Share will be Nov. 29 - Dec 2. If we don't see you next week for Thanksgiving, have a great holiday!

BAG CONTENTS

We know that many of you were looking forward to the parsnips last week. Last week we had an unexpected surprise when Theo, our driver, made it to the farm to pick up the parsnips. Theo called me with the not so great news that there wasn't a single parsnip to be had and that he'd be leaving with an empty truck. We had 800# on order. This isn't the first time this has happened in my years at Fresh Fork, it's part of working with perishables. Many of our farmers do not have phones, which can make for some communication challenges waiting updates via snail mail for, or in this scenario when the truck is on site and ready to be loaded.

More often than not, we are able to shuffle logistics and find the item from other farmers. Parsnips are more of a specialty item though, and not as readily available as something like carrots, so it was a bit more challenging to find back-up parsnips on short notice. We fortunately had other plans in the works with a different farmer for parsnips at a later date, and so far the news is good news that they will be in the shares this week!
