November 2023 Newsletter

Movember is an annual event that takes place during the month of November to raise awareness about men’s health issues such as prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and mental health. The event involves growing a mustache throughout the month of November to show support for the cause.

The Movember Foundation encourages people to participate in various ways, including growing a mustache, hosting events, and raising funds to help research and programs that will help change the face of men’s health. This is a great opportunity to encourage the community to come together and take action.

The NETworker of the Month

Yolanda Clark has been an active member of the Michigan Chapter since 2013, and she has been a tremendous value to our chapter over the years.

Yolanda assisted with our Hope for the Holidays Thanksgiving and Christmas initiatives, she helped collect donations, shopped for our families and hand delivered gifts and food to our adopted families. Most recently she volunteered to help pack 100 backpacks with school supplies for students in Metro Detroit.

Yolanda volunteered for the 35th Anniversary UNCF Detroit Walk for Education by checking in walkers and providing them with water and snacks throughout the walk. She is a great example of what a NETworker of the Month looks like as she is the first to raise her hand to volunteer whenever an action to call is put out and lend her time and talents whenever needed.

CONGRATULATIONS Yolanda for this well-deserved honor!
