Christopher Cano, M.D., was born and raised in Harlingen, Texas. He attended medical school and completed a medicine internship at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. He then completed a neurology residency at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and a sleep medicine fellowship at the Brigham and Women's Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Cano primarily sees general neurology and sleep medicine patients.

Emma Weizenbaum, Ph.D., began her role as an instructor and neuropsychologist in the Department of Neurology at BWH in September 2023, where she had previously worked as a research assistant in the John R. Graham Headache Center 10 years prior. She completed her Ph.D. in clinical psychology at Boston University where alongside her training in neuropsychology, she developed an interest in cognitive behavioral therapy for individuals with comorbid neurological disorders. She completed her clinical internship and neuropsychology fellowship at MGH/HMS where her research program centered around remote digital assessment in preclinical Alzheimer’s disease. In her new role at BWH, she is interested in the clinical integration of assessment and cognitive interventions by working with the Resilience through Neurological and Emotional Wellness (RENEW) Program in its development, implementation, and assessment of clinical programs.

Genetically decoding the human peripheral autonomic nervous system

Erika Williams, M.D., Ph.D., received a Bachelor of Arts in Biology with a concentration in Neuroscience at Williams College. She pursued medical training in the Harvard-MIT Program in Health, Sciences and Technology, followed by residency in neurology and a neuromuscular fellowship at Mass General Brigham. She also completed a Ph.D. dissertation with Dr. Stephen Liberles on vagal sensory neurons in the HMS Department of Cell Biology. She currently works as an Assistant in Neurology in the Neuromuscular and Autonomic Divisions at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital, and as a Research Fellow with Dr. William Renthal.
