Seek the Lost

Commit to our Faith and to Academic Excellence and Serve Others

“This is my body, which will be given for you; do this in memory of me.”

Luke 22:19

September 25, 2023

From the Desk of Mr. Marty Van Hulle, Principal

SAL Parents:

We have multiple events occurring this week which exemplify the way in which the SAL community supports and cares for one another.

On Wednesday, we will be hosting our annual Gold in September mass. All students, staff, and mass attendees are encouraged to wear gold to support Kyler Hogan and his family, as well as all those impacted by childhood cancer. Debbie Dascalu coordinated the purchase of materials for blankets which were tied and will be blessed at Mass. This year, 30 blankets will be donated to Children's Hospital. On Friday, we will host an out of uniform fundraiser to assist affected families – a $1.00 minimum donation is requested and can be given to classroom teachers upon arrival on Friday.

In order for the SAL staff to support Mrs. Brunner and attend the funeral of her husband, Ralph, we have an early release day scheduled for Friday. Specifics for the day are as follows:

  • We will run our regular class schedule from 7:30 – 10:30.
  • Students will be dismissed at 10:30 – busses will run at this time.
  • We will provide EDC services, free of charge, for students from 10:30 – 1:00. Students who remain with us at 1:00 will return to their homeroom/classroom teacher until the end of the school day.
  • Students staying with us from 1:00 through the end of the day will be dismissed to depart for home or EDC at 2:30. Bussing will not be available at this time. Please email the school office if you plan to stay past 10:30am.
  • Students staying through lunch will need to bring a cold lunch as no hot lunch will be served. Milk will be available.

The events of the week are a reminder of how fortunate we are to be a part of such a caring and supportive community.

Take care and God bless,

M. Van Hulle

Principal, SAL
