Dear Students and Families, |
We have exciting news to share from our Publications class! For the first time, Kehillah will gift a yearbook to every student at the end of this school year.
The yearbook team has hit a record high this year with 12 dedicated team members. Our Editor in Chief, Carmel Shenhav, and Sports Editor, Micah Nassi, are leading the charge as they return this year with invaluable experience. Overall, our team is a vibrant blend of creative individuals, each with their own unique talents.
As the year unfolds, we eagerly anticipate capturing and documenting the essence of our wonderful Kehillah community through words, photography, and meticulous design. The yearbook team takes pride in its role of creating a publication that will be valued by all. You can follow our progress at @kehillahyearbook. Thank you for being a part of our journey!
To lessen the impact on our environment, we will only order the amount of books requested. Please fill out this form by Thursday, September 28 to let us know if you would or wouldn’t like a yearbook. If you have more than one student, fill out a form for each.
After September 29, 2023, the yearbook will be available for purchase from our vendor.
Sincerely,
| |

Teen Mental Health First Aide Certification | This year, Kehillah is partnering with the National Council for Mental Wellbeing to certify our 10th-grade class as Teen Mental Health First Aiders! Our first session this week with Sarah Lesser, our School Counselor, was very informative. We are excited to continue learning about the ins and outs of caring for our mental health and recognizing mental health challenges in our friends and peers.
If you have any questions about the certification or concerns about your teen’s participation in the training, please contact our School Counselor, Sarah Lesser, LCSW, at (650) 213-9600 ext. 121 or slesser@kehillah.org.
Common Ground Speaker Series
2023-24 Season begins on Thursday, September 21!
Kehillah is proud to be a member school of the Common Ground Speaker Series. This year, our Head of School, Daisy Pellant, will once again moderate the conversation with their opening author, who this year is Dr. Lisa Damour, author of The Emotional Lives of Teenagers: Raising Connected, Capable, and Compassionate Adolescents.
"I’m honored to represent Kehillah and, to tell you the truth, totally fangirling," said Daisy. "I’ve been reading about Lisa’s work since 2017 when she first published Untangled: Guiding Teenage Girls Through the Seven Transitions into Adulthood."
Dr. Damour helps parents understand what can be expected during these sometimes-but-not-always challenging years. She emphasizes the importance of interactions with our adolescents that support their growing confidence in their ability to struggle as part of learning, growing, and thriving.
Our conversation, Making Peace With Discomfort: When Is It Okay To Let Kids Struggle?, will take place via Zoom on Thursday, Sept 21, from 5:00-6:15 p.m. You can register at Common Ground. Attendance is free because Kehillah is a member school!
