Quittie watershed internships

TLVC administered two summer internships for the Quittie Watershed Association (QWA). LVC students, Hannah Horengic and Ilyssa McLaughlin (pictured left to right), conducted stream morphology surveys and documented on-the-ground agricultural Best Management Practices. Their findings included an overview of Gingrich Run, Killinger Creek and Snitz Creek. We plan to share more details about this project in our next newsletter!

QWA call for volunteers

QWA is looking for volunteers for their bimonthly stream/water quality checks. Make a direct impact on improving stream and creek health in Lebanon County!

Did you know one-third of streams and creeks in Pennsylvania are considered impaired by pollution? QWA is an organization dedicated to improving stream health. They monitor water quality in six stations in Lebanon County and report findings to the PA Department of Environmental Protection. Check out the QWA website for more information. If you're interested in getting involved or have questions, please contact: QWA president, Michael Schroeder at mjsch313@yahoo.com, or Courtney Reimann, TLVC land protection director at director@tlvc.org

Sending our best wishes to Kara!

Our board and staff would like to thank Kara Lubold for the time she has spent as executive director of TLVC, her dedication to our mission, and her passion to make our community a better place. Kara was instrumental in planning our Earth Day event and making sure our first golf tournament was a huge success. Thank you, Kara, for guiding our environmental work during the last year and a half. Although she will be missed at TLVC, we know she will stay in touch and continue to do great things in our community. Please join us in wishing Kara the very best in her future endeavors. Thanks and best wishes, Kara!

We're grateful for the response of donations, memberships, volunteers and sponsors! Your support makes it possible for us to work with landowners to save their land from development and to give back to our community by developing parks and providing educational opportunities. Thank you! -Courtney
