Coffee and pastries will be provided.

Join us for Striving for Justice at Trinity Episcopal on July 23 at 6 p.m. to view the film, "Current Revolution: Nation in Transition." After the 30 minute viewing of Episode 2, discussion will follow to reflect on the problems and opportunities associated with the decline of coal and the rise of renewables.

If you missed the June discussion, you may view the first episode of the film entitled, "The Transformation Cannot Be Stopped" here. Please join us even if you missed the June event!

The film Current Revolution is provided by Interfaith Power & Light (IPL), a national leader in engaging faith communities in environmental stewardship and climate action. We are encouraged to consider how we will put our faith in action to Live the Golden Rule as climate disruptions continue to increase.

We hope to see you July 23!

Parish Picnic at Blue Springs

Our tradition continues with the outdoor service at the Callaway family’s Blue Springs on Sunday, August 6 at 10am.

A covered dish picnic will occur after the service.

There will be a covered food sign up a few weeks before.

It is fine to bring friends, swimsuits and towels!

Please plan to come and enjoy worship and fellowship at this beautiful (and unique) location.

Low Country Boil Coming September 9

Plans are being finalized for the Low Country Boil on September 9. Plan on good food, live music and fun for all! Hope you have it on your calendar!

Tickets will be on sale soon.

There will be a firetruck and a bouncy house for the kids. We are looking for outdoor games for kids and adults. Do you have any we can borrow? We are especially looking for corn hole board and bags.

Call Martha Dimon at 706 587-3243 if you have any to share.

We will celebrate St. Nicholas's consecration on the 1st of October. There will be sign ups coming soon for various aspects of this day so please stay tuned for more updates.

Rector’s Discretionary Fund Needs Bolstering

In keeping with Church Canon, St. Nicholas has a Rector’s Discretionary Fund to meet, confidentially, critical needs of the poor in our community. Payments are not made to the individual directly but to the

landlord, utility, or other provider.

Chattahoochee Valley Episcopal Ministries provides similar

support throughout our convocation.

The St. Nichlas account has always been funded by designated gifts, occasional loose offerings, or services performed for weddings and funerals. For some time, St. Nicholas has received a sizeable,

monthly gift to the Fund. The gift has not been renewed this year and

other donations are slim.

As a stopgap, the Vestry has decided to assign all cash loose offerings to the discretionary fund account until gifts resume at usual levels or other sources are identified. Currently, loose offerings are very small

so we also asking for larger gifts in order to meet the

appeals that St. Nicholas receives.

If you have an event coming up, an announcement you'd like to share, or have recently experienced a birth, death, or sickness and would like some EXTRA prayers!! Send them to contact@stnicholashamilton.org or call the office at 706-628-7272.
