Families can apply by August 11 to Creative Kids for activities that begin this fall.

SaskCulture's Culture Days Hub Sponsorship is now closed. Over 30 hubs in 27 Saskatchewan communities will engage residents in FREE arts and cultural events from September 22 to October 15, 2023.

New Poet Laureate appointed in SK | The Saskatchewan Writers' Guild (SWG) recently announced that dee Hobsbawn-Smith will serve as the province's 10th Poet Laureate. She will serve a two-year term from August 1, 2023, to July 31, 2025. The Poet Laureate program recognizes and honours Saskatchewan poets. Read more. | Heritage Awards open for submissions | Heritage Saskatchewan is seeking input for potential award recipients for its 2023 Heritage Awards. The Award recognizes heritage projects taking place in Saskatchewan. Submissions are accepted in two categories: Living Heritage and Physical Heritage. The deadline for submissions is September 5, 2023. Read more. | Women more likely to agree with social and democratic values in Canada | According to a new study released in May by Statistics Canada, women were more likely than men to agree with most social and democratic values. The greatest differences in views were seen in the results for gender equality, ethnic and cultural diversity, and respect for Indigenous cultures. For instance, 71% of women greatly valued ethnocultural diversity, compared with 62% of men. The difference was greater among younger people. Just over 82% of young women, aged 15 to 34 years, greatly agreed with the value of respect for Indigenous cultures, compared with 67% of young men. Read more. | | |
