Apply for a grant of up to $30,000!
The Berwyn Development Corporation has been tasked with facilitating the disbursement of the $25 M in available grant funding.
Applications will be open between November 30, 2023, and January 11, 2024.
An overview of the grant eligibility and requirements is outlined below. Additionally, we ask that you please send the attached announcement on your letterhead to your business communities.
Grant awards will range from $5,000 to $30,000 based on business type and duration of operation during the pandemic. The deadline to apply is January 11, 2024.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Operations started between January 1, 2020, and December 31, 2021.
- Had gross receipts of at least $25,000 and up to $20,000,000 in 2021 (annualized if started during 2021).
- Currently operating in Illinois

Have not received a Back to Business (B2B) grant before 2023.
- Must meet one of the following two criteria:

The business or nonprofit is in a priority industry as defined by the previous Back to Business program

The business is majority owned by an individual or individuals who became eligible for and received unemployment insurance benefits – including from Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) – between March 13, 2020, and the date the business began operations.
Required Documents:
- 2021 completed, unaltered, and filed Federal Tax Return
- Acceptable Government-issued Photo ID of the business owner
- Proof of Business Organization (Assumed Name, Business License, or Articles of Incorporation)
- Professional Licensing (if applicable)
Brick-and-Mortar businesses:
- Proof of Location (utility bills, mortgage, lease, or proof of insurance are all acceptable)
