Halloween Festivities

October 31, 2023

Parade:

Rockwell's annual Halloween Parade will take place at 3:20 around the perimeter of the building. Parents are invited to come stand outside the building to watch and enjoy this beloved tradition! Students will walk the entire perimeter from their classroom, so no matter where you stand, you will get the chance to see all students. Following the parade, students will grab their backpacks and will be ready for dismissal at 3:50pm.

Costumes:

Costumes are optional. Students may wear costumes throughout the day as long as they do not interfere with the school day (ie. can be worn sitting in a chair, aren't overly distracting, can be worn during PE/outside play, etc.) No weapons or masks, no scary or violent costumes, and costumes should be culturally sensitive. If students choose to change into their costume for the parade, please make sure it is something they can do on their own without parent/teacher help.

Class Parties:

Please contact your room parents or your classroom teacher for details on individual class parties

Alternate Activity:

If for any reason you do not wish for your child to participate in the class party or parade, please let your child's teacher know and there will be alternate activities available to them during these events..

Heritage Night

November 16, 2023 6-8 pm

Redmond High School Cafeteria

Sign up to host a booth by November 3!

We hope Heritage Night is marked on your calendar, because it is not to be missed!

This FREE event aims to celebrate the diversity of our school’s community through a showcase of history, language, religion, holidays, literature, art, music, dance, sports, traditional clothing, crafts, and more! Kids of all ages love Heritage Night. It's a great time for the community to come together, and to learn about and celebrate each other!

Students will receive a blank passport and they can visit a variety of booths for “stamps”. Those who fill their passport with stamps from around the world will receive a small prize at the end. Students and their families are encouraged to participate by creating a cultural exhibit or activity to share. We’re also calling for students who would like to perform or demonstrate an array of talent.

You can still sign up to participate in this incredible event! We would like a final count of booths by NOVEMBER 3 Please click the link below to help us out:

  • Sponsor a booth that represents your family's diversity or heritage
  • Performance: students who would like to perform or demonstrate any talents that represent their culture
  • Help us run the event! There is a need for many people behind the scenes to help make this event possible--things like setup, cleanup, handing out passport books, prize table, etc..

FYI: Here are the booths we have currently represented. If you don't see your country/culture represented, please consider signing up to host a booth. Not sure what is involved to "host" a booth? It's easy and fun! The PTA will supply you with a tri-fold presentation board that you can use to display information about your country and then just bring some fun items/clothing items that you'd like to share--its up to you! Please sign up by November 3!

Calling all 4th Grade Theater Parents

Our spring play production team is beginning our planning, and we'd love participation from parents of 4th graders who would like to be in this year's production. There's a variety of roles to volunteer in, such as Chair of Costume Committee, Chair of Fundraising Committee, Co-Producer does more organizational week-to-week oversight of the production. Training and guidance for all these roles is available so no experience is necessary. Please email rockwellplay2024@gmail.com soon if your child is interested in the play and you have the capacity to serve in one of these roles. Thank you!
