Bring on the Summer! 

I love the summer, even the heat. I know, I know…I’m odd. I know most people are not as excited about the warm weather as I am but that's ok. It takes all kinds!

A BIG part of what I love about summer is the fun stuff that goes on here at FMAA. First off...SUMMER CAMP. This year our theme is “ADVENTURE” We do 2 weeks of camp. The first week is focused on Art. We do all kinds of projects and activities that have an “adventure” theme. This leads us up to the second week of camp which is focused on Music and performance. At the end of the second week the kids have a pizza party and do a performance for the parents. It is A LOT of fun. 

The camps are designed so that kids can do just one week of camp or BOTH weeks of camp. We have a fantastic team of helpers that are led by Lyric Gianni. Lyric is so multi-talented. He led our camps before COVID and everyone had a wonderful experience. We provide a very structured time where the kids really learn. They also get a chance to work together. The kids bring their own lunch and we also provide healthy snacks. It’s just a great time to make new friends and give them a fun thing to do in the long hot summer.

Summer Adventure Camp dates: 

Week 1- June 19-23

Week 2- June 26-30

 $250/wk, 400 for both weeks, 10% discount for siblings! 

The second FUN and exciting thing we do in the summer at FMAA is FRONT A BAND FANTASY CAMP. This is basically summer camp for grownups that want to sing! The camp runs for 5 evenings and is led by David Aus and myself. The final night, the students get to do what the title of the camp is, they get to FRONT THE BAND! Yes, the week culminates in a live performance for family and friends! This class is ALWAYS a blast!! We provide snacks and adult beverages. The class is open to 12 new singers. There is still room for a few more. We would love to have YOU!!

ARTS CLASSES at FMAA!

Right now at both our school locations, we have been teaching our early childhood music program, Music Funtime. These classes are geared toward kids ages 3-6. I’m confident that most of you know about this wonderful program. We are excited that starting July 1, we will add Art Fundamentals on the same days as Music Funtime. We will be shifting the times of Music Funtime just a bit to allow parents to have their kids in BOTH programs. I personally watched this program in action and I am so excited about it. I observed the easy flow of kids going from music class to art class and vice versa. Parents, this is a really cool opportunity for you and your children!

Also, we are excited to announce the opening of Fresno Music Academy & ARTS ANNEX, located right across the street at 814 Olive Ave. On July 1, we will be starting this FABULOUS Art program, Art Fundamentals geared toward kids ages 6-14. We will also be adding Art classes for adults, sometime in the fall. 

I cannot emphasize enough, the importance of early childhood arts education. It's probably the most important thing we do here at FMAA.

Arts integration can improve language development and literacy in young children. Arts activities help children develop and practice critical life skills like learning to focus, remembering instructions, and prioritizing tasks!
