Vessels Traffic Safety

Help keep our kids safe! Please follow all traffic rules and always yield to pedestrians! Please see the list below for other tips to keep our school accident-free.

  1. Slow down!
  2. Give yourself extra time to get to and from school
  3. Always have students exit on the right side of the car!
  4. Stop at all stop signs!
  5. When in the loop, do not get out of your car and pull all the way forward!

Thank you for your help and support!

Harvest Night!

Harvest Night is this Friday and it is sure to be a blast! We will have vendors, food, a DJ, a costume contest, and the Book Fair in the MPR! I have included a food order form below if you want to order. All proceeds will go to 6th-grade activities this year! All are welcome to join in on the fun. Costumes are highly encouraged!

Halloween Parade - Tuesday October 31

Join us for our first Halloween Parade in over 10 years! The gates will open at 9:00 a.m., and we ask that you stay behind the ropes and cones until after the parade (please see the map below). After the parade, you can cross over the cones and lines to take photos. The Vessels gates will close at 9:45 a.m. If you plan on taking a child after the event, you must sign them out through the Vessels Office!

Halloween Dress Rules:

 Students do not need to dress up for Halloween.

 Costumes must be kid-friendly and appropriate for elementary school.

 No bloody or gory costumes that will scare younger students.

 No masks or accessories—no swords, canes, knives, etc.

 Costumes must be easily removed if there is an issue.

 Parents will be contacted to bring a change of clothes or to come get costumes deemed inappropriate for school.

Although Halloween is a fun day, it is still a school day and learning is our priority

Honoring Our Veterans at Vessels

In true Vessels tradition, our annual Veterans Day celebration to honor the brave men and women who defend and serve this country is scheduled for Friday, November 3, at 8:30 a.m. It's already stacking up to be an incredible event, including excellent musical performances and of course, our veterans! However, to make it a success, we need your help!

If you have a Veteran in your life, whether retired or active-duty, we would love to have them be a part of this tribute by attending our Flag Ceremony as our special guest. Sign-ups for the event can be found here.

Please encourage any of your family members who are Veterans (it can be parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, siblings, etc!) to be a part of the day!

If you have any questions or need help, please do not hesitate to email me at [email protected]

Thank you for helping to make this the best Veteran's Day celebration ever!

Red Ribbon Week - October 23 - 27

Check out the dress day themes for each day! Students who dress may win random prizes! There will be a door decorating contest and many other surprises next week. Let's show everyone that Vessels pledges to be drug-free!

Attendance Matters

As we embark on another exciting school year at Vessels, I want to emphasize the critical importance of regular school attendance.

According to recent studies by the Department of Education, students who attend school regularly have consistently shown higher scores on standardized tests than their peers with irregular attendance. Regular school attendance fosters a deeper understanding of key concepts, enhances critical thinking skills, and enriches a child's education.

Furthermore, maintaining good attendance at an early age plays a significant role in shaping future success. Research conducted by the National Association of Elementary School Principals indicates that students who consistently attend during their elementary years are more likely to graduate high school and pursue higher education or vocational training. This, in turn, opens up a world of opportunities and paves the way for a fulfilling and rewarding career.

Beyond academic achievement, regular attendance also strengthens social and emotional development. The school provides a unique setting for students to interact with their peers, form meaningful friendships, and develop vital social skills.

Consistent attendance promotes a sense of belonging within the school community, fostering a positive learning environment where each child can thrive.

I understand that occasional absences are inevitable due to illness or unforeseen circumstances. However, it is crucial to prioritize school attendance whenever possible.

At Vessels, we support our students and their families in maintaining excellent attendance records. Our dedicated staff is always ready to provide assistance and guidance to address any challenges that might arise.

Let us work together to make this academic year a resounding success for every student at Vessels. We can nurture a generation of confident, curious, and accomplished learners by valuing and prioritizing school attendance.

We Love our Bulldogs!
