Congratulations, Dr. Tiffany Donaldson!

Tiffany was named as a recipient of the 2023 UMass Boston Chancellor's Award for Distinguished Teaching!


In her 26 years at UMB, she has had a profound impact in the Psychology Department and at the university through her teaching, mentorship, supervision, and leadership. She has demonstrated excellence across several undergraduate behavioral neuroscience courses, graduate-level clinical psychology courses, as well as an upper-level seminar in the Honors College that links neuroscientific approaches to addiction to perspectives from the arts, sociology, and other disciplines.


In addition to Tiffany's tremendous teaching and mentorship, she has also served as co-Director of the UMB-DF/HCC Partnership's Outreach Core for many years. Congratulations, Tiffany!

GMaP Region 4 Research Support Awards

Applications are being accepted on a rolling basis to support a range of cancer research activities. The goal of the Research Support Award is to stimulate or support new research with a funding amount of up to $1,000 and all expenses invoiced by June 30, 2023. Fellowship in Cancer Survivorship Research

The Perini Family Survivorship Center at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute invites members of the DF/HCC and Harvard Medical community to apply for a two-year fellowship.

Student Spotlight  Jimmy Cannon!

Jimmy is a graduate student working with Dr. Huimin Yan on the project "Testing Home-Based Exercise Strategies to Improve Participation and Cardiovascular Health in Underserved Minority Patients with Cancer Undergoing Chemotherapy."


He is interested in improving health outcomes in clinical populations through various research areas, including cardiovascular, exercise physiology, and exercise oncology. Once he completes his master's degree, Jimmy hopes to continue his education in one of his fields of interest.

Research Training Opportunities - Applications Open!

The Communicating Across Difference (CAD) Study is an opportunity for undergraduate students and their graduate/postdoctoral mentors to participate in a research study to investigate what factors may influence the development of researchers' communication skills. Congratulations, Dr. Darrick Scott!

Darrick recently defended his dissertation in Clinical Psychology. Dr. Scott's dissertation was titled "The Impact of Historical Trauma, Self-Compassion, and Resistance Against Racism among African Americans." The committee was impressed with his novel application of historical racial trauma framing in his investigation of HRT's impact on African Americans' mental health and exploring how resistance may mediate this relation.


Darrick has been a part of the UMB-DF/HCC Partnership community for many years through his work with Dr. Tiffany Donaldson and the Outreach Core.
