Dear Parents and Caregivers,

As world events continue to weigh heavy on our hearts, we are grateful for the splendor of autumn -- fall foliage, pumpkin spice, crisp air, and jack-o-lanterns! 🎃

Join us this week for two special events on student health and well-being:

1) How can we increase learning and joy while offering kids much-needed support? In Whole Child, Whole Life: 10 Ways to Help Kids Live, Learn & Thrive, Stephanie Malia Krauss offers a guidebook for parents everywhere (October 25).

2) In the first of a series, Emmy award-winning filmmaker Preeti Mankar Deb presents My Body to Love: Arjun's Story, a short film that profiles youth coming into their sexuality. Event includes film (6 min) plus panel discussion (October 26).

This month's Spanish events include El foro de padres #30 (español) with Edwin Fernandez, LCSW, in Drogas, noviazgo, escuela y mis hijos (October 24) and ¡La salud dental importa! with Brenda Barrientos, hygienist, Sonrisas Dental Health (November 1).

NEW! Which factors make the most difference in college-admission decisions? College admission experts Laura Stratton, Scripps College, and Gabrielle McColgan, Castilleja School, present College Admission: What Really Matters? (November 2).

SPECIAL EVENT! Renowned brain and trauma expert Bruce Perry, MD, PhD, presents What Happened to You? A Conversation on Trauma, Healing, and Resilience, the NY Times bestselling book co-authored with Oprah Winfrey (November 9).
